Real Friend b/w Jenny - Dom Mariani

It may have taken Dom Mariani nearly 20 years to release his first solo record and you could almost say it was worth the wait (that is, if he’d never been a member of The Stems, Someloves, Summer Suns and DM3). Real Friend b/w Jenny takes off from where the last DM3 single (Just Like Nancy) ended although both songs really owe more to perfect pop of The Someloves than the guitar crunch of DM3. Of the two tracks, Real Friend is probably the better of the two although Jenny is a lot more fun with its chanted chorus and cheesy farfisa organ. Although I wouldn’t rate this single as essential as Dom’s previous work, it’s still worth having if you're a Dom Mariani fan. Anyway, it’s still better the majority of pop music you hear these days.
