Shutdown 66 is the relatively new band for Corduroy’s head honcho and former Breadmaker Nick Phillips. They have released quite a few 45’s already but this their first record I’ve heard so far and no doubt it won’t be the last. These guys play totally authentic 60’s garage rhythm and blues with wailing harmonicas and snotty vocals. They sound just like something that Voxx Records would have released in the 80’s and lo and behold both these tracks were recorded in San Diego with current Loon & former Tell-Tale Heart, Mike Stax.
