Deus Ex Machina: The Xenogears Tale PERSONA SHEET Player Information Name or Alias: Super Saiyan Seth Age: 17 Sex: male E-mail address: cross64@yahoo.com Character Information Adam again had relations with his wife, and she gave birth to a son whom she called Seth. "God has granted me more offspring in place of Abel," she said, "because Cain slew him." Genesis 4, Verse 25 Name: Seth Age: 18 Sex: male Occupation(s): explorer and scientist Substitutes which Xenogears character? (If applicable): none Birthdate: June 28th Height: 5 foot 11 inches Weight: 160 pounds Eyes (color and shape): His eyes are hazel in color, but look similar to Darius. Build: He has a light build, since he exercises but is not a warrior. Complexion: Not tanned, but isn't pale either. Facial Features: Wears glasses, but otherwise looks similar to Darius. Identifying Marks: None really. Hair: His hair is dark brown, and is tied in a ponytail. Voice: Same as Darius, but his personality is rather timid and shy, which means he usually talks quietly or not at all. Dress/Attire: He wears some civilian clothing he found in a home near the Lahan wreckage in order to blend in. They are basically the same as Zell Dincht's clothing from FF8, but are all black. Jewelry: None. Weapons/Tools (if any): Glasses, a few science tools, and a pair of studded leather gloves like Zell's (FF8 again) that he found in the house by Lahan. Armor (if any): The clothes he borrowed from the ranch are equivalent to Martial Wear. Theme Music (basically his favorite music as well): Aliens Exist by Blink 182 (the lyrics seem to describe him, and it sounds cool to boot), We're Gonna Win by Bryan Adams (very inspiring for combat), You'll be in my heart by Phil Collins (his "love" music). He is an eclectic, meaning he likes all music types. Personality: Unlike Darius, Seth is basically a science geek. He is very shy, and is easily intimidated by popular people, especially women. Hates to be the center of attention. Other than these restrictions, he is a nice guy who would try to help those in trouble. Background and History: Ten thousand years ago, the spacecraft known as the Eldridge departed from its homeworld carrying thousands of passengers and crew, and even more cargo - including the super weapon called Deus and the near infinite power source called the Zohar modifier. The ship crashed on an uninhabited planet, starting a cycle that has lasted to the current date, starting with what was believed to be the sole "human" survivor, the young Abel. However, little known to him and the machine Deus, t ere was a second survivor - Seth, Abel's cousin. Seth always felt very close to Abel (like an older brother), and they did many things together. So when Abel was to go on the Eldridge spacecraft, Seth begged his father to let him go with him. Besides, Seth really liked science and technology, so he wanted to see the Eldridge work. Since Seth's father was an engineer of the Eldridge, he was given permission to go as one of the many civilians on board. Seth and Abel were happy at this arrangement, and they hung out together during the long, boring hours on the Eldridge while the adults worked. Then Deus awoke When the ship was eventually evacuated, Seth got a little lost, and was separated from Abel and his family. However, he was told that Abel had ran to the Engine room where Zohar was kept (it's where he "creates the Antitype"). Seth ran to there as fast as he could, but it was too late. Abel had already left, and the Eldridge was blown apart, crashing on the planet in dozens if not hundreds of pieces. Abel would die in the crash, only to be recreated by the Wave Existence he made contact with in Zohar. Seth however was a bit luckier. He got into a storage room and shut the vault doors for protection. It proved to be barely enough. Seth crashed with the Zohar modifier in the arctic regions of the planet. However, his body was heavily damaged, and buried in the freezing waters under the ice where Zohar resided. His body froze, but remained alive (partly from the freezing water, and partly from the energies of Zohar). He was stuck there for ten thousand years Until now. The recent 'channeling' of Zohar's power by Kyouran (and Deus/Myaru in some instances) have used some of Zohar's energy. Not a lot by its standards, but enough to generate quite a bit of heat. The ice around it (underwater, where it resides until somebody comes to 'make contact') unfroze enough to reawaken Seth, who frantically swam to the surface. Dazed and still only half-conscious, he wandered to a large block of permafrost that broke off from the mainland, sending him to the open sea. The current carried him (by fate, perhaps?) to the shore near Lahan, where the raft melted away from the hot currents. Here Seth regained true consciousness, and when he remembered what happened, he could do nothing but cry for the loss of his cousin, the other passengers, and for the realization that he couldn't go home. Birthplace: The original homeworld that made the Eldridge. Mother: Naomi, a mother who valued self-improvement (deceased) Father: Doctor Michael Cooper, one of the developers of the Eldridge (deceased) Siblings: none Mate: none Children: none Other relations: Abel's cousin, which makes him a VERY distant cousin of Darius (they look similar in general, but physiologically are much different, as explained in the Abilities) Affiliations: Lahan's wreckage Secondary Skills: Kickboxing, mechanics (including some general knowledge of the Eldridge and its important cargoesthis "general knowledge" would probably impress those who know only the legends of "Merkava" and "Babel Tower" and so on) Disabilities: Without his ether powers, he is comparatively weak in Attack and Defense (about half what Darius' would be at the same level). Also, he isn't good enough at martial arts to do Deathblows. He is naturally shy and more a thinker than a fighter (he and Citan would have a lot of fun talking shop). Without his glasses, his Accuracy and Avoidance (Hit%, Evade%) are minimal, but not entirely gone. Seth is also only able to speak the language of his home planet, which I would guess is Ancient Solar an on this world. The fact that he has no Limiter would probably make him a target for Solaris if (or when) they find out. Finally, Seth's body is not conditioned for Ether energy, and thus he is getting progressively closer to death. Abilities: Since Seth comes directly from the Eldridge crew to the current period (through suspended animation), he doesn't have a Limiter, meaning his Ether grows faster than others. ("Ether Deathblows" become possible, but for him it'll cause his Ether to grow faster than normal - about twice the normal rating for his level) This also means he isn't naturally afraid of the Gazel Ministry and similar beings in Solaris. Seth also has the advantage of being almost totally unbiased in this world, and is li e a child seeing it all for the first time, and thus isn't influenced by hate. Chi Abilities: He possesses the following powers. Note that for his level, Seth's Ether rating is twice as strong. This helps balance his comparatively weak body and poor combat ability. Note that these names differ from what he'll shout out to summon them (he is an anime fan, after all). ETHER FLAME: Increase ETH or DEF, but lose HP. Lasts for duration of battle. --- In both cases, his aura flares up like flames, with golden energy for ETH or red energy for DEF. SPEED OF CHI: Increase Agility for duration of the battle (appears as red aura and rocket/screeching noise) CHI BLAST: single enemy Chi blast (soccer ball-sized golden energy globe). CHI HEAL: heal self (appears as a light glow of golden energy at the wounded area) Hobbies: Studying machines and science in general; watching cute chicks from a safe distance; wondering about the universe and everything in it. Current Residence: The wreckage of Lahan is the closest thing to a home he has currently. Current Life Conflicts: Coming to terms with his loss of Abel and the passengers of the Eldridge as well as the fact that he can't go home. Also trying to study the nature of Ether and the population of this supposedly uninhabited planet. Also fighting his "illness". Deathblows: none. Doesn't have the required skill level and force of will to learn deathblows for hand to hand combat. However, he may eventually develop Ether Deathblows (those powers of Fukei up to Yamikei are unusable until Limiter is removed, which Seth doesn't have). Ether Deathblows: Started with one already - the Chi Wave (Air ETH attack, all enemies). Over time will develop more ETH deathblows. Other notes: Seth will be very surprised if he ever meets Darius, Kyouran, or any other "originals" from the Eldridge. He will be VERY confused at first. He knows a little bit about Gears (his homeworld had a few experimental designs), and may be able to repair them after learning more, but he doesn't want to pilot them. He doesn't have the skills needed to do so anyway. Gear: none. He tries not to fight, and is a wuss to boot, making it unlikely he'll get into Gear battles. However, he is not above defending himself or innocents with Ether if the situation calls for it.
