David Usher

Date of Birth: April 24, 1966. Oxford, England. [He moved to New York then Kingston when he was three]

Musical Talents: Vocals, Guitar.

Education: David has a degree in Political Science from Simon Frasier University.

Side Projects: A solo album titled 'Little Songs' [1998] see david usher little songs. David is also presently writing a book.

Family: David's mom is Thai and his father is Caucasian. He comes from a rich ethnic background Buddhist Thai and Jewish Canadian. David has a sister named Ann and a brother named Tony. His mom is an artist and his father is a Professor at Queen's university. He married his longtime girlfriend [3 years] Sabrina in a small ceremony on May 8th, 1997.

Nicknames: Hollywood (because of all the media attention) and Monkey boy (he enjoys jumping on people)

Musical Influences: Dance music, Pop music, basic rock stuff, Rap. According to a recent article in chart magazine, David mentioned an admiration for Leonard Cohen's work.

Favorite Bus Activities: Sleeping, Nintendo 64.

Past Bands: True Hype Crue [a rap band, David mentioned it as a University School Project, saying he still wears THC shirts around the apartment and "you do weird things in university"] and several with Kevin

Role in the Formation of Moist: David and Kevin moved out to Vancouver and auditioned people until Kevin had a party where they met up with Jeff and Mark. David's friend Keith Maryanovich also was offered the role as manager, which he accepted.

Interesting Info: He likes to improvise on stage. David is known for his destructiveness on stage [Since August 1993, David has at least broken 3 microphones, 11 microphones stands, 2 guitars, 1 keyboard, 1 drum skin and 23 beer glasses]. He was bitten by a shark in Thailand. He also has a scar from surgery after his appendix ruptured a few years while on tour. David appears in two videos other then Moist, David Usher and True Hype Crue; you can find him in the West End Girls' "Not Like Kissing You" (he used to go out with one of the members).
