I'm taking the liberty to post a review from the Moist show at the Darts in Wasaga beach from Andrea K. (Webmistress of the Official Moist Page first posted on the Towelette's Board)... Thank you Andrea

    > hey, i just wanted to post a quick review of the show last night at the dards in wasaga beach.
mind you we finally left mississauga at 9pm took freakin 2 1/2 hours to get there.. got stopped by an OPP officer (luckily not ticketed) much to kevin's twisted amusement
but the show rocked. we came in during Dogs (their 4th song according to jeff)...i am not sure how many songs were played...quite a few. i managed to get some pics of the show (which will hopefully be posted on the site this week)...they did a few of the newer songs, particularly Comes and Goes..which sounded great..and dave confessed the mysteries of live which is that it was the first time playing it and therefore the lyrics were written on his arm.
when i have a chance to, i will try to write up as much of the setlist as i can if anyone is interested. but the show was great..even though it rained all the way there, traffic was horrible, and we were late...
afterwards there wasn't a real area to chat..but a few people were waiting by the bus...jeff and kev talked to just about everyone...i heard mark went in and out quickly, and paul a bit as well. but it was lousy weather and it was around 12:30 or 1 when we were hanging outside.
oh, and one funny thing was that jeff had asked me if i was hassled about photographing the show, and i told him that i was asked 101 times by security to put away my cameras and not photograph, until i told em that i was given permission by the band to photograph. jeff was like..."ok...i specifically told all the security PERSONALLY that if anyone has a camera, as long as its not obvious, they can take pics, and if a girl with a lot of camera gear comes in she is with us..she is to film whatever the hell she wants." *L* my own personal stan *L*.

Ok, Byron plays bass with David Usher from time to time, but does that mean we can’t do an objective piece of hard-hitting rock journalism. Probably not, but it’ll be fun.

This is a quote from Toronto's Gay Magazine of which David was on the cover. Thanks to fish/kat for posting it on the M.T.Board.
[David on the lyrics of Breathe] "Breathe is about a combination of things. It's very much about facing the idea of mortality. It's a combination of ideas. It was written based on the idea of my wife's stepfather dying of cancer and her facing that moment and a gay friend of mine whose partner died of AIDS and his facing... its a melding of people facing mortality and those kind of ideas where you go back home to the funeral and you see the people that you've known. It's just about those moments. If you go through the song it actually makes some sense."

Breathe is number 3 on the MuchMusic Countdown (last week spot= #5).

Underground is the new single. According to Kathryn and her conversation skills she informs me Jeff Pearce wrote this song.

Leave It Alone in Thai is on the soundtrack for the film Brokedown Palace which opened on Friday the 13th. The song plays during a market seen with Claire Danes' character and a blond guy.

GRAND THEFT CELLO: MOIST COLLABORATOR NEEDS YOUR HELP
In the ongoing rash of equipment and instrument thefts, DAMN has some bad news to pass along about Lynn Selwood. Selwood, who has played cello with Moist in the past, is the latest victim of thieves. Here's what she's missing: 1974 3/4 size Suzuki cello with Fishman pickup, dark stain, plywood top in brown vinyl soft gig bag with black shoulder strap. Also in case; bow and Seiko Quartz Metronome. A Fostex four track recorder (an old, old model) If anyone has any information about this equipment, Lynn and her friends in Moist would be most grateful. Feel free to forward any tips to us here at ChartAttack; send an e-mail to scoop@chartnet.com with the word "Cello" in the subject line. DAMN will make sure that Lynn is kept abreast of any developments...
