of the charts , etc. in the usual manner – hand drawn or in those readily
available small printed booklets .
The New Year
of 1999 again saw all the Astrological Magazines in India bring out their
Annual number – a collection of more articles than usual , eye-catching
and brain-marking those advertisements of Astrology software packages ,
and a few of the Publications’ advertisements of their own old , revised
, edited and new books , a few giving an attractive Subscription schemes
.
A traditional

There is a
trend of change being introduced by some persons with the Information Technology
background and also Vedic Astrology background to help this Jyotishi who
has been using his Panchang , etc and manually working out those calculations
, use a Personal Computer with some Operating System software and also
a dedicated Software for Vedic Astrology using the stored database for
the planets , places and time .
Using various
Algorithms, these IT background persons are coming up with faster calculations,
newer features / styles of Displays and Reports generation which are capable
of presenting the charts / analysis from a number of perspectives and also
using different Vedic Astrology systems made around different Ayanamsha.
A way of generating various statistics with certain objectives is also
available.
Based on the
dependability of the core database and peripheral databases, these people
are helping the traditional astrologer get more time and concentration
for actual chart analysis. This is a welcome sign – Jyotishi will be able
to do away with his laborious calculations and querist will be able to
get a better insight into his/her query.
I think the
modern Science and Technology is expected to help even a Vedic Astrologer
to make his Higher Knowledge Fund reach the masses; ultimately that is
the objective of any social goal!
