Conventional Prosthesis


Above elbow conventional prosthesis.

The Prosthesis is suspended and controlled by a northwestern ring harness. Elbow function is controlled by a anterior elbow lock cable attached to the harness. Forearm rotation is set manually through elbow turntable. The terminal device is controlled by a posterior cable attached to the chest harness. Opening terminal device is achieved by shoulder excursion or reaching forward with prosthesis. Terminal device may be replaced with with voluntary opening hand and cosmetic glove.
