The Odd Side Of The Street was Mike Merz's third and last recording under the name "Mike Merz and the Can o' Worms" (the band he formed after the break-up of Pimentos For Gus). Afterwards he would use his real name, Mike Hallenbeck, and focus on experimental sound recordings and music and sound for commercial, film and animation.

The Odd Side Of The Street was recorded soon after Mike's participation in the production and recording of Lori Wray's first CD "Safely Crass" in the late 90's and features her on back-up vocals on several tracks. The song linked below, "Kites," is one of several available to hear on YouTube and has a Syd Barrett-like playfulness and psych-pop feel. Lori's vocals on the refrain add a poignant and otherworldly touch to the recording.
