So what do we plan?
The Newsletter will possibly include the following: Scores and/or percentages of intl. competitions. Questions that riders have and hopefully answers to them. Ideas of special equipment that exists and has helped riders with different disabilities. Focusing a different topic every time. News about tests and rules. Anything you got to me in time. Please help to find representatives in those countries that are not listed above and get them in contact with me. Help me to unite the horseback riding world for people with disabilities a little bit more!
Thanks, your
Dear Athletes,
may I introduce myself, I am Angelika Trabert and I have been elected as athletes representative to IPEC in Atlanta 1996. I am handicapped myself and I have been riding for approximately 24 years (I am 30 now). I also competed in Vilhelmsbourg, Denmark Worldchampionships 1991 and 1994 in Hartpury, England plus 1996 in Atlanta at the first Paralympics that included horseback riding. Besides this I also teach handicapped people on weekends. During the week I work as an Anaesthesiologist (American English) or Anethesist (English). To get in a better contact with other countries athletes I decided to get one athletes representative of each country. I started this in Hartpury in September 1997. From the following countries I got somebody I can contact:
Australia ----- Sue Haylon
Bermuda ------- Ann Lindroth
Germany ------- Angelika Trabert
Holland ------- Redaktie "Klein Hoefblad"
Israel ------- Itai Zuck
New Zealand --- Jane Craike
UK ------------ Ann Dunham
USA ----------- Hope Hand
We try to make a Newsletter every once in a while, so if you find anything important, interesting or funny, just pass it on to me or your athletes representative in your country (also questions about rules, tests, special equipment etc.). You can reach me:
