Pretty good con. As usual, no guest but lots of dealers. Saw a bit of the JLA TV show from the late 1970s; a dealer was selling a tape of it and was playing it on a TV. I remember watching it when it originally aired; it was weird to see it again, if only briefly.
One dealer had a few boxes of comics for ten cents each. Most of the stuff was predictably undesirable, although I did see a few copies of Superboy #8 in there (Zero Hour issue...and one of the series' best issues). Also Adventures of Superman #501 (another good SB issue).
Saw many issues of Steve Englehart's Captain America run for a dollar each. Saw the 2nd appearance of the Falcon (Cap #118) for a buck. Saw several issues of Kirby's Kamandi for $1 each. (I bought a few of the earlier issues.) Saw a JLA 100-Pager for $1, but I put it back because I didn't care for the condition. Saw one of the early Capitol Nexus magazines (including flexidisc record) for 2 bucks. Saw a book reprinting Gardner Fox/Joe Kubert Hawkman stories for 5 bucks. Saw some pulp magazines at the con, such as Weird Tales, but they were too expensive for me...20 bucks and up, it seemed.
Saw a bunch of old undergrounds, which looked even weirder because one never sees them listed in price guides and here was a whole box full of them, but they were 5 bucks and up. (I like Rand Holmes' art. Can someone make a suggestion for what undergrounds he did? I saw one called Big Apple Comix there that looked like he drew the cover.)
Saw some old 1970s Marvel mags, but they were higher-priced than I'd expected. I figured they'd be around a buck or two, maybe three. But many were much higher than that. I've bid on a few of them recently on Ebay, but have been reluctant to bid more than a buck on them. Someday I'll have to check and see what they go for at shops around here. Thinking of checking out more of those mags.
OK, enough about what I saw. Here's what I actually bought today:
