Here are some of the few surviving photos of the many banners and paintings by the Sembradores. Remember, Carmen, who started this website in the early days of the internet in Bolivia, stipulated photos should show "las chicas con sus banderas" when she started scanning photos in 1997..

Below, two team banners seen on the wall behind Vikky as she prepares for a television appearance. The banner at left bears ancient Tiahuanaco designs on the borders, as well as two local butterfly species as main motives.

All members learn survival and self-defense skills. The kids loved it, and spent lots of time in nature.

Symbol of the Guardabosques. Elite teams of boys age 12-18. All banners and photos of this group were confiscated by the Bush Administration's sabotage of the movement in 2002. There is great need of these local forces protecting forests from burning in the Amazon and Central America. Support this group. You may donate historic swords or daggers or contribute funds for the re-establishment of the Guardabosques next year in Guatemala, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil and Ecuador.
