My Story
This is a story, yet unfinished, of an unknown Indian. It starts with the first day of the year 1972
Overview
Born on the cold winter evening of 1st January 1972; in the city of Varanasi, Spent the next 18 years there getting used to the crowded (and often filthy) lanes and by-lanes and gradually falling in love with it.
Never wanted to, but had to, leave in 1990 to go to engineering college. Have been away from home since. It was initially painful but I am slowly getting used to it.
Finished college in 1994 and moved to Bombay for a job with L&T Group of Companies. Surprised myself by getting used to the new place and new rules pretty quick. Realized that wherever I go I'll never have any problems adapting to the new place. Landed in the United States in the December of 1996. Have been here since ..
Now some details ...
Education
Spent the first 14 years in St. Mary's Convent School and St. John's School The former, a catholic convent, was the place I enjoyed most, and learnt most of the values of life. Last four years were fun, a new school, and a completely different environment, a new phase (teenage) of life. It passed rather quickly...
Went to Regional Engineering College, Rourkela for studying Computer Engineering. Learnt a lot more than just that. These four years, away from home, were the ones that taught me how to survive in the big bad world.
Work
As a kid, I always wanted to be a train driver, or a guard. As luck would have it, I ended up in a completely different field. After graduating in May 1994 joined L&T Group of Companies in Bombay. Started off in the Networking Group of the Software Exports Division. Very soon was given the responsibility of management
and planning of L&T's Wide Area Network. Helped implement L&T's VSAT based countywide network and its integration to the Internet. Presently working for L&T Information Technology Ltd.Trip to the US
Landed in the United States in December of 1996 on deputation to Technology Applications, Inc. and have been here since. It has been a very pleasant experience. Once again I surprised myself by adapting to the life and culture very fast.
This has been kind of a walk through my life so far. Wanna know more about me ? I love to talk so you can e-mail me anytime. This page is still under construction so check back often.
