Casey & Sara

When Casey found out that Sara had really had the affair with Congressman Blythe, he was there for her. He didn't look down on her or treat her any differently than he had been treating her before he found out she'd had the affair. Sara didn't understand why he still liked her, but she also didn't mind the attention she was receiving from him. After the taped confession surfaced in the press, Casey invited Sara to be his date on Titanic II so she could get her mind off of the media, and she accepted. While on the cruise, Casey continued showering Sara with attention and affection. They even ended up in bed together, though not by traditional methods. Thanks to Sara's ex-friend, Melinda, Casey and Sara had been drugged, stripped of their ballroom clothes, and posed suggestively in bed.

A tidal wave rocked the ship Sara and Casey were on, and when they came to, they were shocked to find themselves half dressed. They quickly got dressed, and managed to escape the stateroom which was rapidly filling with water. They made it off the ship successfully and, unfortunately, Melinda tagged along. While floating in the mid-night sea, Melinda was attacked and eaten by a shark, leaving Casey and Sara floating in the deep blue ocean. The two drifted ashore a deserted island where they were able to achieve radio contact with the Coast Guards in Sunset Beach. While they waited for rescue, they fell asleep on the only bed available in the hut they had discovered. Being so close to each other, they soon found themselves kissing each other passionately, but were interrupted when they heard Meg and Ben approaching the hut.

When they finally arrived in Sunset Beach, Sara was attacked by a barrage of press hounds who confronted her and Casey with the doctored photos that Melinda had taken of them while on the S.S Neptune II. Casey stepped up to the press, and informed them that he and Sara had never been and were not now romantically involved, much to the dismay of Sara who hoped that Casey felt the same way about her like she felt about him.

Casey then told Sara that the "deserted island" kiss never should have happened much to Sara's dismay. Sara felt that Casey would never want anything to do with her romantically because of the scandal with Congressman Blythe.

The following day, Sara and Casey got the shock of their lives when they were served with summons, except that the summons had nothing to do with Sara lying on a sworn affidavit. Instead, Casey and Sara were charged with attempted murder by none other than Melinda Tripp, er Fall, who survived the shark attack. Melinda now has a peg leg... my guess is that the shark thought she was too bitter!

Later on that night while at the Cummings' rental casa, Sara and Casey laughed at hilarity of the summons and the whole Melinda Fall shark/attempted murder saga. Sara and Casey almost kissed, but gosh darnit!, were interrupted when Joan and Hank came home from a shopping trip at the mall.

Luckily, the attempted murder charges against Sara and Casey have been dropped thanks to Casey threatening Melinda Fall and Kendall Moon with a lawsuit. In order to get Melinda for setting up the photos of them together, Sara and Casey got Melinda to unknowingly admit on tape that she drugged Casey and Sara while on the Neptune and posed the photos.

At Ben and Meg's wedding, Sara was Meg's maid-of-honor while Casey was Ben's bestman. Next to the bride and groom, the maid-of-honor and the bestman are almost a natural love connection. Will Sara and Casey take the roles they played in Ben and Meg's wedding and parlay it into a deep romance?
