Casey is the all American lifeguard who hails from a single parent home. He's kind, sweet, generous, and playful. When friend and house mate, Dr. Rae Chang, asked Casey to pretend that the two were married for the sake of her parents who wanted her to marry childhood friend, Wei-Lee Young, Casey agreed. While playing pretend house, Casey and Rae soon developed romantic feelings for each other. Of course the Changs didn't agree with Rae on her choice of "husband," and cut her off from them. distraught, Rae went to San Francisco to make amends with her parents. While she was up north, Wei-Lee came back down to Sunset Beach and told Casey that he and Rae had gotten married. Casey was heart-broken.

Casey's mother, Alex, means the world to him and when she came down to Sunset Beach, he learned that she had cancer. Casey chose not to give up on his mom, and the two went to Sweden to try experimental cures. The cures worked and Alex's cancer went into remission.

Casey recently met Meg's younger sister, Sara, and the two have become extremely close friends. Fortunately or unfortunately, Casey has been dragged into the whole Congressman Blythe mess with Sara. He was also charged by Melinda Fall with attempted murder who survived a not so vicious shark attack. Because the charge was so comical, Sara and Casey had a ball laughing about it and the two almost kissed but were interrupted by Joan and Hank.

Casey has finally admitted that he likes Sara and the two are now dating.
