Sara is Meg's younger sister who feels that she can never live up to Meg in her parents' eyes. Sara came to Sunset Beach with a Washington, D.C. scandal following close behind her. She originally lied to the press and to her family about the affair with the congressman, and only told Casey the truth first after he'd caught on to her. Sara admitted the affair to her parents just minutes before her supposed confidante, Melinda Fall, betrayed her by leaking the taped confession to the press.

On the recent charity cruise, Melinda followed Sara onto the ship hoping to get video-taped footage of her "apology" to Sara, and Sara's subsequent attack on Melinda. Sara told Melinda off then a couple hours later, she accepted Melinda's invitation to go to her state room. Both Casey and Sara accepted the invitation, and while in Melinda's room, Melinda drugged and took suggestive photos of Casey and Sara.

Unfortunately, those photos came back to haunt both Sara and Casey via a fisherman who found the roll of film inside a fish and decided to develop them and sell them to the press. Not only did the photos come back to haunt Sara, but so did a not so dead Melinda Fall who survived the shark attack with just her right leg having been chewed off. Melinda also decided to charge Sara with attempted murder. Also the infamous Congressman Blythe showed up in Sunset Beach with his wife. Bette leaked to him that Sara was also in Sunset Beach, so he found out where she was staying and decided to pay her a visit.

That night when the congressman came on strong with her, Casey came to her rescue and decked Blythe. The attempted murder chrages were also dropped against Sara with the help of Casey and his legal knoweldge.

When Maria returned, Sara suspected that Tim had something to do with her return on Ben and Meg's wedding day. Since Maria's return, Sara hasn't been too easy on her and even accused her of faking her amnesia.
