Texas A&M is a tradition obsessed school: Bonfire, the Twelfth Man, Sawing Varsity's Horns Off, Adventuring through the Steam Tunnels, etc. And it was inevitable that, being Aggies, we developed our own otakuized (is that a word?) traditions for Aggime.
Mandatory Maison
Every showing of Aggime begins with Rumiko Takahashi's Maison Ikkoku (or as some else puts it "Maison Ik-cuckoo"). This tradition started with Chuck, and was the one decision he wouldn't allow anyone else to make. Chuck always wore his "Piyo Piyo" apron and introduced every episode as "A very nice episode." (Thanks, Bill, for this info.) We watch one or two episodes per session and only as of October 1997 did we finally make it through the whole series. Plus the movie. Of course, Aggime wouldn't be Aggime without Maison Ikkoku so we started from the very first episode all over again.
It's excruciating as hell (esp. when Yagami comes along), but it's fun and classic Takahashi.
You guys want to add anything to this?

The Mountain Dew Awards
