Destined for the Throne

"Perhaps some are wondering what is the relationship of the supreme rank of the redeemed to the subject of prayer and intercession.  THE EXPLANATION IS THAT PRAYER IS NOT PRIMARILY GOD'S WAY OF GETTING THINGS DONE.  IT IS GOD'S WAY OF GIVING THE CHURCH "ON-THE-JOB" TRAINING IN OVERCOMING THE FORCES HOSTILE TO GOD.

This world is a laboratory in which those destined for the throne are learning, by actual practice in the prayer closet [the quiet sanctuary within the heart], how to overcome Satan and his hierarchy.  GOD DESIGNED THE PROGRAM OF PRAYER AS AN "APPRENTICESHIP" FOR ETERNAL SOVEREIGNTY WITH CHRIST.

Here we are learning "the trick of the tools" - how to use the weapons of prayer and faith in overcoming and enforcing Christ's victory so dearly bought.  What foes will be left to overcome in the eternal ages we do not know.  But the character acquired in overcoming here will evidently be needed when we have joined the Bridegroom on His throne.

"To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne" (Rev.3:21).  "The crown is only for the conqueror" (Sauer).  And the conqueror overcomes within the framework of God's program of prayer and faith.  THE PRAYER CLOSET IS THE ARENA WHICH PRODUCES THE OVERCOMER."

"We sanctify the world by living in His sufficiency.  Live sanctified in your culture.  Do not bow to your [empty, godless] culture.  Let it not intimidate you.  America is not your home.  Heaven is.

"Live 'set apart' by holiness. You can't do it by 'being psyched up', 'a  good attitude' or 'by trying harder' but by being called out of this world by the Supernatural Power of God.  Unite in partnership with this Power.

"The life to be holy is developed by living in [constant] fellowship with Him.

"Live like Jesus is your Lord."
