GOLDEN PROGRESSION
PROGRESSION
From
Passover, To Pentecost,
To
Tabernacles
"We
have also a more sure word of prophecy, whereunto ye do well that ye take
heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn,
and the day star arise in your hearts." 2 Peter 1:19
FEAST
OF UNITY
I believe the fulfillment
of Tabernacles will mean the glorious realization of all the objectives
spoken by the Spirit for the church in Ephesians 4:13. One of these
is the "unity of the faith". As each individual obeyed the call [INDEPENDENTLY]
to go up to Jerusalem to keep the feast, a great unity of thought and purpose
prevailed. God was speaking the same thing to all, and all were hearing
the same thing! It was a great Feast of Unity! O, how man has
tried in his own strength and by human means to produce unity. Yet,
every effort of man, from the time of Babel until the present, has either
failed or become a great counterfeit. But all who have an ear to
hear and who respond in careful obedience WILL FIND THEMSELVES TOGETHER,
not by great effort or striving, but by virtue of simple obedience [in
even the smallest things]. As each Israelite approached Jerusalem,
he found others already gathered. Each one was thinking the same
thing, speaking the same thing, and doing the same thing! (see 1 Corinthians
1:10) They were perfectly joined together in the same mind, THE MIND
OF GOD. Beloved saints, let us not yield to the element of doubt
that would make us conclude that the unity of faith is an elusive impossibility.
God will surely have a unified people. In that day it will be said,
"THIS IS THE LORD'S DOING; IT IS MARVELLOUS IN OUR EYES." (Psalm
118:23)
THE
GRAND CLIMAX: GOD'S CORPORATE MAN
One by one, the Israelite
families kept coming unto the Feast. Gradually, the numbers multiplied
into a great host. Every available space held a booth - the streets,
the porches, and even the roofs of houses. The whole city and its
immediate environs became filled with people. It was a glorious "gathering
together" of God's people into ONE CORPORATE MAN. God, from His viewpoint,
saw His many-membered son surrendered unto Him in loving obedience.
Their labours were now ceased, for a bountiful harvest had been reaped.
Both they and their God could now enter into "rest". It was a feast
of great "joy", for the Day of Atonement had brought them new life and
hope. They were a fully redeemed people. God had seen the fruits
of repentance and He had accepted them. All uncleanness had been
dealt with by the sprinkling of blood and He now beheld His corporate man
as without spot or blemish!
Ah, beloved, this indeed
represents a glorious fore-shadowing of God receiving unto Himself that
"PERFECT MAN" of Ephesians 4:13. Do we for one moment entertain the
thought that God will not have for Himself a glorious church, without spot
or wrinkle? God forbid. Can the gates of hell frustrate God's
purpose of building His church according to His design? Never, never!
Will He Who ordained day and night allow the DAY TO DAWN without the DAY
STAR ARISING fully in our hearts? No, for His word is true.
Beloved, let us lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees,
and let us make straight paths for our feet. Let us press on with
great hope and anticipation unto the GRAND CLIMAX OF THE AGES, for surely
there shall be a great spiritual harvest, enough to "fill all the earth
with the glory of the Lord"!
A
FINAL NOTE
The truths we have presented
in this writing are vast in character and hold depths and heights which
we cannot cover in this booklet. The purpose of this booklet has
been to stir our hearts, stimulate our vision, and inspire us to seek higher
ground in Christ. An extensive development of the themes touched
upon here is beyond the scope of this writing.

A
GOLDEN PROGRESSION ADDENDUM
There is THE MOST GLORIOUS
EVENT OF ALL beyond the Feasts of Tabernacles. THAT is the CLAIMING
OF AND THE MARRYING OF THE BRIDE BY THE BRIDEGROOM! And, like
Tabernacles and contrary to the traditional teaching, THAT IS ALSO
INDIVIDUAL - WHENEVER A BRIDE HAS "MADE HERSELF READY" - obviously, there
is a spiritual qualifying: "THEY THAT WERE READY"!
Let us again allow scripture
itself to instruct us and not the traditions of men:
Matthew 25:1 (KJV):
"Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten VIRGINS, which took
their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
[THE VIRGINS]: And
five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
They that were foolish took
their lamps, and took no oil with them:
But the wise took oil in
their vessels with their lamps.
While THE BRIDEGROOM tarried,
they all slumbered and slept.
And at midnight there was
a cry made, BEHOLD THE BRIDEGROOM COMETH: GO YE OUT TO MEET HIM.
Then all those virgins arose,
and trimmed their lamps.
And the foolish said unto
the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
But the wise answered, saying,
Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather
to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
And WHILE THEY WENT TO BUY,
the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him TO THE MARRIAGE:
AND THE DOOR WAS SHUT."
Luke
12:34 (KJV): "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be
also.
Let your loins be girded
about, AND YOUR LIGHTS BURNING;
and ye yourselves like unto
men that wait for their lord, when he will RETURN FROM the WEDDING; that
when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
Blessed are those servants,
whom the lord WHEN HE COMETH shall find watching..."
Who are the "virgins"?
"These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These
were redeemed from among men, being the FIRSTFRUITS unto God and
to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: FOR THEY
ARE WITHOUT FAULT BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD." (Revelation 14:4b-5)
THIS is a VERY select group,
indeed. To be "without fault" is to be without spot, or wrinkle or
any other blemish: the qualifications for being the Bride of Christ.
In that they ALL qualify, yet not all enter AT THE SAME TIME FOR THE WEDDING,
the ONLY reasonable, intelligent answer is INDIVIDUAL MARRIAGE based upon
an INDIVIDUAL qualifying time frame known only to God.
This is borne out by the
first story also which tells of those ready and waiting for their master
when he RETURNS from the wedding.
The words of the Lord, therefore,
take on added significance: "Blessed are those servants, whom the
Lord when He cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto
you, that He shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and
will come forth and serve them.
And if He shall come in
the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, BLESSED
ARE THOSE SERVANTS". (Luke 12:37-38)
Remember, some are "bidden"
to ATTEND the wedding in which some are MARRYING.
Rev. 19:7-9(KJV):
"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage
of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath MADE HERSELF READY.
And to her was granted that
she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine
linen is the righteousness of saints.
And he saith unto me, Write,
Blessed are they WHICH ARE CALLED UNTO THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB.
And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God." It is important
to note that the Marriage supper comes AFTER the wedding. It is too
obvious to comment that there is a PRIVATE wedding AFTER which a wedding
supper is held and to which only the blessed are invited - invited
to meet the new Bride.
THE
MANY-MEMBERED BRIDE
It is our belief that this
Bride is the NEWEST MEMBER OF A CORPORATE [MANY-MEMBERED] BRIDE:
just as each year, new members take part in "Passover", INDIVIDUALLY having
their sins washed away; new members enter experientially into the
Feast of Pentecost, INDIVIDUALLY baptized into the fulness of the
Holy Spirit; and new members join the yearly pilgrimage to the
Feast of Tabernacles - in their
SEPARATE BOOTHS, INDIVIDUALLY being sanctified and set apart unto
God.
May all who desire His coming
be found doing those things that "make them ready" FOR THE MARRIAGE OF
THE LAMB .
