The first time I personally experienced astral travel I was in my pre-teens. About 11 or 12 years old. I did not know what was happening since I had not read anything about out of body experiences. I thought I was losing my mind. So I made it a point to find out what could have been going on, and thus began a journey into learning about the occult. As I got older and I had learned what had happened and I was intrigued with the possibilities. Needless to say I didn't want to repeat the circumstances, but I did want to travel again.

As I got older I learned that it was possible to travel at will, if you have the knowledge and can master the technique required to let go. I am rather dissappointed with myself for not being able to learn the technique well enough to travel at will yet. I will continue to try. Until then I will have to be satisfied with the occassional accidental jaunts that I take without my body. I need to learn more about it anyway. Like how to prevent or at least cure the physical manifestations that can come with problems on the astral plane. Since I am not yet in complete control of the trip it sometimes takes me to unexpected places. I think of places or things and before I realize I have even thought of them I am already there.

This last trip was so odd that I don't have the foggiest notion what actually happened. I am hoping a seasoned traveler can tell me someday what the trip was trying to show me. I believe that since I am not in control I only pop out when I have something to be shown, as I have always learned something on my trips that helps me to grow.
