kurt-unplugged
[he lives on]

-May he have the peace in death that he couldn't find in life-

Kurt Cobain is my idol. yes, the drug addict who committed suicide. but he was so much more than that. media attention and controversial gossip only stray away from the truth about him. and the truth is that kurt was a star.

not a big rock star who wanted to take over the world. but a man with so much talent, intelligence and empathy, that it's almost impossible to believe that one single person was so amazing.

yeah, you say, he must have been real intelligent to shoot himself. but do you understand? it's only when you know the story that you begin to realise what he went through. did you know the reason he used heroin was because the drug gave relief for the stomach problems which plagued him his entire life? or did you just make up an opinion, without really knowing anything about him?

kurt was an amazing songwriter and performer - the music of nirvana has depth. a listening of Unplugged In NY will tell you that...i connect with their songs, i can find understanding in the lyrics. call me crazy if you like. but the music is brilliant. i'm yet to find a band that moves me as much as nirvana does.

heroes come and heroes go, but legends never die.

rest in peace, kurt.

A note on suicide.............

although kurt ultimately chose to end his own life, there is nothing glamourous about suicide. he should not be made out as the rebel who died young and free. because suicide is a selfish thing to do. death in itself is tragic enough, and it makes it even worse knowing that the person themselves was the one that was responsible for their passing. a suicide victim leaves behind loved ones, who are left with so many unanswered questions. in kurt's case, courtney and frances now have to live their lives without a husband and father. courtney should be admired for her courage.... for her to go on, with the death of her husband, the death of hole member kristen pfaff, and the endless rumours of drug abuse on her child, she has survived through it all, and gone on to make a great new record, and establish herself as a credible actress. she should be respected for what she has been through.

if you follow a link on the index page you can find suicide prevention sites and other pages which are important.

A note on judmental people......

nothing makes me quite as angry as the ignorant idiots who assume that any nirvana fan is obsessed with death and all things depressing. kurt himself could not avoid the inevitable criticism, and now he is gone, it gets passed on to his fans? nirvana fans are not crazy, if they are then i belong in an institution. they are people that are smart enough to realise that the music was, and still is, one of the best things in the world.

~this page is dedicated to the memory of kurt cobain, and my two grunge sistars, amanda and jenni. i don't think anyone is ever going to discover our little board in cyberspace, and that's probably a good thing too. love you.
