We are all made up of gross body (present visible) form and a subtle body (you may call it soul). Subtle body may not be called as a body, as it has no attributes (it is just for explanation), maybe nearest right word is some form of energy or light.

Present body is visible, subtle body can only be felt.

Gross body is generally governed by mind, subtle body is governed by subtle principal.

Present body decays and dies, subtle body has no concept of age. When mind melts, heart comes in fore, one could experience the joy of subtle body. Dualities of good and bad, right and wrong, love and hatred all disappear, the consciousness expands. One start loving every soul and all attributes of nature such as plants, animals, birds etc.

Experiences of the subtle principal sounds very illogical to a person, who evaluate it with his mind.As mind is full of imprinted expressions of various experiences of gross world. If those are wiped out for a split second joy of subtle body could be immediately experienced.
