All was well at Figaro Castle. After the defeat of Kefka, they were having a festival with most of The Returners invited. Shadow and Gogo didn't show, being loners and all. Locke and Celes were on their honeymoon. Gau was just, gone. The moogles and Umaro were doing work on their cave. So that left Edgar, Sabin, Relm, Terra, Strago, Cyan,and Setzer. Setzer was late.

Edgar had talked to Sabin about them splitting up the role as king, but Sabin refused. Figaro had became the most popular weapons exporter in the world. They were made rich by such inventions as the

Autocrossbow and the Soundblaster. Figaro was badly damaged after the reign of Kefka, but with the money they had coming in, it would be fixed in no time.

Everyone was present at the festival, except for Setzer, who was just arriving on the Falcon. Edgar was happy to see his old friend and went to greet him. Setzer didn't seem in the celebrating mood. In fact, he was in a panic.

"I just saw a man...wearing blue armor...trying to enter The Esper World!" Setzer said winded. Edgar also saw he had cuts on his body.

"Take your time friend, Who was this man?" Edgar said.

Once Setzer got his breath, he started to talk more clearly. "I was flying here when I saw him go into the cave to The Esper World. I went to see what he was doing. He was trying to break the doors down! Me and a few nearby townspeople tried to stop him, but he is a powerful sorcerer. He killed most of the people and wounded me pretty bad."

Setzer sat down. Everyone was silent.

"Who was it?" Edgar repeated.

"He called himself Golbez. He said he was going to drain the powers of the espers for his master, whoever that is." Setzer said.

"We must stop this Golbez!" Edgar commanded, "Guards fetch my weapons. Friends, we must stop this madman."

Everyone agreed.

Chapter Two:

Shadow (Clyde) was out wandering around with Interceptor. He was bored and needed some kind of adventure. He walked until he saw four large figures ahead of him...The Four Elemental Fiends!

"We need to distract the people of Figaro while Golbez in in The Esper World." The Rubicant said.

Shadow knew he need to warn his friends at Figaro, but when he got up, he snapped a twig.

"Someone has been spying on us." Vavalis said.

Shadow tried to duck down behind the bush, but as he did, the bush burned away (Thanks to The Rubicant).

Interceptor sensed that his master was in trouble, so he lunged at The Rubicant, and bit into his shoulder. He bit on so tight, The Rubicant had to burn him off.

Kainazzo caused a tidal wave that threw Shadow several feet away.

Milon tried to grab Interceptor, but he was already chasing after his master.

Chapter Three:

"I know my brother is around here somewhere. I can feel his presence!" Cecil exclaimed.

"Did you ever figure out why he was awaken on the moon?" Rosa asked.

"Maybe he's on a mission for the lunarians!" Cid said.

Cecil, Rosa, Cid, Edge, and Rydia were on a mission to find Golbez. Cecil and Rosa went to visit the lunarians on the moon, figuring they would be asleep. Everyone was there except for Golbez. Even Fusoya was still dormant.

"What could wake him from such a deep sleep?" Cecil asked.

"I don't know, but it must be really important." Edge replied.

The whole gang was just arriving near Figaro in their new jet Cid had designed. They were going to find Golbez, they didn't realize it would be more dangerous then they ever imagined!

They had not seen Kain since the defeat of Zemus. Tellah was gone. Fusoya was sleeping. They had not talked to the dwarfs since the defeat of Zemus. Yang was in a hospital. Palom and Porom were taking care of the church. Edward was rebuilding his castle, so this was all they had.

Chapter Four:

Edgar was really determined to find this Golbez. Even more determined then the rest of the group. He just did not want another war.

They arrived in the cave that leaded to the door of the esper world. The doors looked as if they were almost ripped off their hinges.

Edgar was expecting the worst...

Chapter Five:

"THE FOOLS!" Golbez thought.

The espers were putting up a good fight. Ifrit was spewing flames at Golbez. Golbez returned that with white meteor. Golbez was standing over Ifrit's unconscious body when Edgar and his gang came into the esper world.

Edgar, Sabin, and Cyan drew swords and charged...

Chapter Six:

Kain's priorities were totally changed since he was at Mt. Ordeals. Now he needed to kill the Espers!?!?!?

Chapter Seven:

Edgar's adrenaline was flowing to its peek. He got to Golbez first and slashed him with his sword, right in the shoulder. Golbez howled and put his hand over the wound. To Edgar's amazement the wound sealed right up! Golbez kicked Edgar back and he collided with Cyan. Sabin charged Golbez with a blitz...

Shiva had seen enough fighting, she had to get out of The Esper World. Last time someone invaded like this Shiva ended up losing her powers. It wouldn't happen again. She had to get VERY far away.

Sabin received lightning-3 and was blown back a couple feet. Strago stood in front of Relm as Golbez drew closer. Strago pulled out his fire rod. Golbez sneered.

"How can you still use magic?" Terra asked Golbez.

Golbez turned his attention to Terra. "You know nothing of what is going on little girl. It's all part of my masters plan."

Suddenly Kain landed on Terra's back and knocked her unconscious.

Edgar got up and pulled out his Autocrossbow and got ready to fire at Golbez from behind. Just before Edgar pulled the trigger, the whole gun fell apart on him. He noticed that someone had just swung a sword at him from behind. He turned around and saw a tall, white-haired man wearing a crown.

"Who are you?" Edgar yelled disgusted with this man's actions.

"I am Cecil, king of Baron. Who are you and why are you attacking my brother?" Cecil replied.

"Your brother!!!" Cyan screamed, "He's trying to kill the espers."

"He must be under mind control again. This is not the first time it happen." Cecil said.

"Will you help us stop him?" Edgar tried to negotiate.

Before Cecil could answer the four elemental fiends came in. Vavalis attacked Sabin. Milon and Kainazzo ran towards Cecil and Edgar. Cecil easily killed Milon by ramming his crystal sword through his chest. Kainazzo would not be as easy. He washed Cyan away with wave. Edgar got out his smaller, replacement crossbow and fired ten arrows at Kainazzo. That tamed the beast. Cecil slashed him with the crystal sword until Kainazzo was dead.

Sabin just defeated Vavalis, so everyone turned their attention towards The Rubicant, who was attacking Strago and Relm. The Rubicant launched a huge fireball towards Strago, and knocked him unconscious. Relm tried to sketch, but that didn't seem to work. Cecil, Edgar, and Sabin ran towards The Rubicant, with Cyan trailing far behind. Strago used the last of his strength to call Lore and use aqua rake. The water really had effect on The Rubicant. Edgar attacked with his sword, and Sabin used Bum Rush to drop The Rubicant.

Setzer was fighting Kain. Realizing he had came unprepared, Setzer tried to run, but instead received a steel glove in the back of the head to knock him unconscious.

Kain and Golbez took off running to their new base, which was the old Empire base VECTOR!

Cid, Rosa, Edge, and Rydia came running in. They had just got done unpacking the airship.

"Did we miss anything?" Cid asked.

Cecil pointed towards the battle field with all the dead and injured bodies. Then he gave Cid a evil look.

Chapter Eight:

Shadow was running towards the area of all the commotion. Suddenly a knight in light-blue armor landed on him (Kain from jump). Shadow pulled out his sword and got up quickly, but the knight kept running. In front of him was another knight in dark-blue armor. Shadow decided to follow these suspicious characters.

Chapter Nine:

"I hear Golbez and Kain are heading towards Vector." Setzer said as he was coming to his senses. "Ok, here is our plan." Edgar started, "Terra, Relm, and Strago will go back to Figaro Castle and rest up from your injuries. We may need you later. As for the rest of us, we will split up into three groups. Group one will be me, Sabin, and Setzer. Group two will be Cecil, Rosa, and Cid. Group three will be Cyan, Edge, and Rydia. We will all attack Vector from different angles. Lets go!"

Chapter Ten:

"Did you get me my power Golbez?"

"Yes sire" Golbez said.

"Then give it to me!"

Golbez walked over to his master and put his hands on his shoulders. All the powers Golbez received from the espers and some of Golbez's own powers drained into his master.

"You did very well Golbez. Now you and Kain must prepare for battle. Cecil and Edgar will be coming soon."

Chapter Eleven:

Edgar and his group attacked the front door. They were met by Zeromus! Setzer started whipping handfuls of cards at Zeromus, until the beast hit him with a lightning bolt, and knocked him out. Sabin used bum rush three times before he was hit with a scorching lightning bolt. Edgar shot all the arrows he could at Zeromus from his replacement crossbow, when he ran out he pulled out his sword and mounted the monsters head and hacked away until it died. Edgar ran inside to investigate.

Cecil and his group went to a side door. They were met by Golbez. Golbez threw a multiple white meteor at everyone. Cecil somehow managed to dodge it, but Cid and Rosa were not as lucky. Then Golbez received white meteor himself! It was Fusoya, flying down from the moon in a airship. Fusoya picked up Golbez and threw him in the ship. "You are going back to sleep." Fusoya exclaimed. Then they took off.

"Thanks Fusoya!" Cecil yelled as he waved to the fleeing ship. Cid and Rosa were out, so Cecil decided to head inside to check out what's going on.

Cyan's group took the back door. They were met by Kain! Rydia launched fire-3 at Kain, but the dragoon easily dodge it. Then he jumped and landed on Rydia's back, which terribly messed up her spine. Edge stole Kain's lance away and attempted to used it against him. Kain grabbed Edge by the arm and smashed him against a wall of the building. Cyan jumped into the fray. Rydia used her last ounce of strength and called chocabo. The chocabo smashed into Kain and wrecked the mid-sectionof his armor. Cyan used this as a advantage and hacked away at Kain's mid-section until he fell over. Cyan ran inside hoping to meet everyone else.

When Cyan ran into a giant meeting room, he saw Edgar and Cecil standing motionless. In front of them was the mighty lunarian Zemus! Zemus summoned every monster he could and watched the men fight them off. Zemus considered this entertainment.

After a half-an-hout Cyan, Edgar, and Cecil had defeated all the monsters. They were all to exhausted to face Zemus, and Zemus knew it. He stood up and got ready to cast meteor. Just then, Shadow, Interceptor, and Shiva ran into the room. Shadow threw shriuekens. Interceptor started biting. Shiva casted her strongest ice spells. Edgar used his sword recklessly. Cyan used his strongest swordtech. Cecil used the famed crystal sword. In minutes Zemus was dead, again.

Chapter Twelve:

"Thank you for helping us Cecil." Edgar said. "Are you sure you don't want to join use for a festival?"

"Thank you too, but me and my friends have to get back to Baron." Cecil replied.

"Well bye then." Edgar said as he boarded The Falcon, with the rest of his friends, and flew away.

Cecil and his friends were getting ready to board their airship, when Yang came flying in on the hovercraft.

"Cecil Baron and Fabul have been attacked. Attacked by some evil army called The Empire. They said their leaders name is Kefka..."
