Cid was elbow deep in an acess panel when Cloud found him, tinkering away with some wires. "Cid." Cloud said Cid jumped and hit his head on the raised panel.

"damn it." cid yelled. "I told you ass holes never to do that"

"Hey Cid It's me Cloud." Cloud said. "settle down a bit why don't you"

"God I've had cat's that make more noise than you do, Cloud." Cid was rubbing his head where it had hit the panel. "Cloud how'v'ya been?"

"Good." Cloud answered "so I hear you went to the moon?"

"Yeah ain't it great." Cid said thoughtfully "Finally got my dream"

Cloud looked up at the huge ship that Cid was working on. "You're still trying to fix that thing?"

"Oh course." Cid said "It's my favorite thing to fly, I gotta fix the thing. Hell I hate to see her in so many pieces"

"So how long do you think it'll take to finish up with it."

"I don't know a few months. She'll fly right now but not very well, not until I get everything put back on."

Cloud walked closer to Cid, "anything I can do to help?"

Cid huffed indignantly "Did you hit that spikey head of yours on something hard kid." He said "I wouldn't let you touch the highwind if you were god."

"whatever."

"Cool as ever. So what brings your spikey ass to this part of the world?"

"Nothing much." Cloud shrugged "the usual stuff. Assasins mostly."

"Now what the hell did you do to get someone that mad at you?"

"That's the thing. I don't know why, that's why I came here, to kind of hide out in the middle of an army you know, no one would be stupid enough to kill me in the middle of my friend's army."

"There're a whole shit load of stupid people out there, you'd be surprised what the bastards would do for a penny."

Cloud and Cid talked for a while longer before leaving the hangar and heading for Reeve's apartments.

They waited for Reeve to open the door in silence. The door was opened and they were invited inside, where they ate a quick dinner. "Now" reeve said "Lets show you all of the stuff that I've done to the company."

"Alright " Cloud said "I've been wondering how you got this company from dying after the reactors went off."

"We've been doing a lot of stuff with science and making new strides in technology" Reeve said "Follow me"

They followed Reeve

Reno looked through his anti-reflectant binoculars at the city of Junon jutting out over the night blackened water, good he thought they havn't gotten here yet. He put the binoculars away and re-started his motorcycle. Soon he was speeding towards the city. Upon arrival he made straight for Reeve's apartments, Reeve would pay well for this information.

Reno rang the doorbell and waited. For the door to open, but there was no answer, he picked the lock on the door and let himself in. he sat down and waited for Reeve to come back.

Reeve showed Cloud all of the laboratories and some of the experiment that they were doing in them. Cloud found one invention that was being built very facinating. It used electro-magnetic inductance to fire an aluminum pellet at close to the speed of light. The one problem tat Cloud could see with it was that there wasn't'a war going on. This invention would be wasted.

Finally they started back towards Reeve's apartment. "I've got one more thing to show you." Reeve said "It's our new power source that we've invented. And this time it is totally harmless to the planet."

Reeve led them down a side corridor where they passed three separate guard stations. "We have the extra security because if someone breaks the delicate balance between components the explosion would take out most of the continent."

"you call that safe for the planet?" Cloud asked

"As long as someone isn't stupid enough to break the alignments on the reactor." The entered a room that was completely white, but empty. Reeve handed them each a set of black goggles. "put these on." He said "you'll go blind without them"

After they put the goggles on Reeve pushed a button on the wall and it slid down into the floor revealing a ball of energy suspended in the exact center of the room before them. "What the hell is that?" Cloud asked

Reeve smiled, "It's a self sustaining hydrolysis machine. It separates water into it's two componnent elements. Hydrogen nd oxygen then it burns them to create energy. But unlike most experiments trying to do this it use more energy than it produces but this one does the oppoite. It's cheap clean and harmless."

Reeve closed the wall and they returned to his apartments. Where they found Reno waiting for them. "What are you doing here?" Reeve asked a little annoyed that he was inside of his apartment.

"Look We don't exactly have much time for arguing." Reno said. "you remember Professor Gast? The Shin-ra scientist that supposedly died ten years ago. He ain't dead and he's got a huge army slash navy heading for here, they're going to attack and take the city."

"what?" Reeve exclaimed

"I expect to be paid in the usual way and the usual ammount." Reno stood up. "As for you Cloud It's professor gast that's after you but I don't know why yet. Just give me a few more days."

"Oh shit" Cid exclaimed looking out the window. "Theres a huge fleet of ships blocking off the . . ." He was cut off by the muffled thud of an explosion.
