I am currently working on my DUFFETT ancestors but I have information about the other names mentioned on the left. I have provided what little I know about the DUFFETT'S below. James and Priscilla DUFFETT and their children are my current interest. You can find out what I know on the Duffett page. I am trying to find out what ever I can about EMILY SARAH and JAMES ALLAN since they are the only two which I have not been able to find birth certificates. I have some info, but not a lot. ENGLANDMy ancestors came from ENGLAND, though I am not quite sure which part. I have traced my great great grandfather's roots to Fontmell, near Shaftesbury, Dorset. This is where his marriage certificate states he was from. However, I have reason to believe he was born in East Orchard. His name was John STEELE. He married Zipporah CARBERRY from Burgoyne's Cove, Newfoundland. My ggg grandfather also came from England, although I'm not sure from which part. His name was THOMAS DUFFETT. The Mills also came from England. I have traced my ggg grandfather Nathaniel MILLS to Dorset, England. As well, Silas LODER, another ggg grandfather, came from Devon, England. According to Wilfred Martin, Silas Loder ran the Boer Head Inn. As the story goes, Charles Dickens spent time there while working on one of his books. As of yet I haven't been able to locate this Inn or find out anything about it. I don't even know if it still exists! Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Just email me if you know anything about the Boer Head Inn.
