PRECIOUS SOULS
Her laughter turned to sorrow,
Her joy has turned to woe,
Her tears are falling softly,
Her head is hanging low.
The sunshine leaves her cold,
The flowers have no smell,
She sees no beauty, hears no sound,
She's in a living hell.
Her child is gone, she knows not where,
Her heart is slowly dying.
Is he ok? Is he in pain?
Oh! Is my baby crying?
She cannot sleep, she cannot rest,
She has a void inside,
She sits and waits and meditates,
She'd like to run and hide.
Till he comes home she has no joy,
She waits and prays and cries,

To mend this broken heart.

These statistics are from a reoprt taken in 1990. It is almost 8 years old. I'm trying to find more recent reports and will add them as soon as they are available.
- 114,600 attempted abductions of children by non-family members.
- 4,600 abductions by non-family members were reported to police.
- 300 abductions by non-family members where the children were missing for long periods of time or were murdered.
- 354,4000 children abducted by family members.
- 450,700 children were runaways.
- 127,100 children were abandonded
- 438,200 children were lost, injured or otherwise.
As a mother I can only imagine the pain and suffering that a parent faces when a child is missing. Wondering if he or she will come back, or if they are being taken care of. Non custodial parent abduction is more common than stranger abduction but the risk is still there. The children must be terribly confused and disoriented. Please do what you can to help all of the missing children and their parents. Get involved however you can.
