"MY GUYS AND GAL AND THEIR STORIES" TABER'S STORY: (also known as "tay-bear doggie")
Years ago, when I got my first apartment, I decided that I needed a dog of my own. TRAY'S STORY:
After Tay, I spent months alone and let me tell you,
To all of you out there that have faced the rainbow bridge, TOSH'S STORY: (aka: "the short one") Now, Tosh could have been a victim of a throwaway society had I not been in the right place due to sad circumstances... The death of my great aunt and under-employment allowed me to live in her lovely vintage house... My neighbor's little girl lived out in the country with her grandma... A dog of theirs got pregnant and had puppy or puppies... .I have never been sure of this as I only saw one puppy... I was told that it was a poodle cocker mix... Then as now, it looked mostly like a spotted cocker to me and it was going to be thrown away out in the country if I wasn't interested... Can you imagine???? It was just a baby-8 or 9 weeks-- and already covered in "nasties"... He had precious little hope of a life without me. I wasn't prepared for another, but of course, I took him... and gave him a bath in the ancient kitchen sink... I wrapped him in a towel and held on while he cried... ~~Now, He loves going for a bath, though...~~ He has made me happy just by Being and he has been a friend to Tray for the past 11 years... He is my "special something". Update: I lost Tosh on May 15, 2005 to acute Kidney failure; I did get to hold him and say goodbye. He is now with Tray at the Bridge playing... 2 of my 3 gone now in 10 little months... and I am still sad... TESSAH'S STORY: {aka: Tessie and Tessah Mary Francis when mom is happy/mad, respectively with her. :--) } (I added a girl this time!) If you made it to this page, then you know about "Rusty" and my starting to rescue. Tessie came about thru my rescue work and she was to be lucky 13... I had been foster parent to the cockers in our humane society group... The rescue group had been called about a cocker dropped off by a man at the pound. I was called to go to the pound and pick up the cocker and her cabin mate to homestead... Anyone, who has been there knows what they look like and that they need a bath straight-a-way... After all the hair was clipped and baths given, I wound up with a gorgeous redbuff with white patches of light cocker girl and a black full blood Aghan lady... The Afghan was given over to the afghan rescue group for placement and a happy new life; Tessah, then called "sunshine" due to her patches, came to live with me... Initially, she was a foster and I did take her to Petsmart for adoption... She kept looking at me forlornly from her cage, but I resolutely stood there to see prospective new parents... Not one person looked at her and this was on a busy Saturday... Another Destiny maker??? I just couldn't bring her there again for another day... so I brought her home with me to stay... She loved the boys from the first and fit right in... She is very bright and is approximately 6ish? now... and she's my Brat and my Joy. Update: She is now 10ish and my single little one... MORE PICS: These are miscellaneous ones that look good enough to be here... Still learning with the digital camera.
