I was twelve-years-old when I went to my very first concert with Skyler and Matiya. It was the Alice Cooper, Dokken, Warrant and Slaughter show at the Nautica Stage in Cleveland, Ohio. I don't remember the date because I have no room in my memory for shit like that, okay?
On the day of the concert, Sky, Tiya and I woke up early (Despite the fact that we'd driven around until four a.m., trying to find a hotel) so that we could get there early and possibly get autographs or talk to the bands. But you could give a rat's ass about us, right? Yeah, you just want to hear about the bands.
So, anyway, we drove around for an hour
before we finally found a damn parking space and by that time it'd started
raining like a mother..
Outside of the Nautica, the Slaughter bus
had broken down. At least they'd made it though. So, Sky, Tiya and
I stood in the pouring rain, wearing our cheesy rock babe outfits and freezing
our Slaughter lovin' asses off (even though it was like August or some
shit). Sky and Tiya's cheap ass weaves were getting nappy. But it was well
worth it.
Dana and Tim were the only ones hanging
around the bus at the time; I don't know where Blas and Mark were. Dana
was inside the bus, looking very stressed and in quite a bad mood. Tim,
however, was outside with us fans, which I thought was extremely cool because
he had a nice, dry, warm bus to go to, but he was outside in the freezing
rain with us. Goddess bless his soul.
I was so lucky that day. Tim came over to
where the three of us were and we talked to him a while. He politely gave
us his autograph when we asked, which I still have stashed in a safe place
to this day, and he posed with us for pictures too. And, like the sweetheart
that he was, he didn't even mind when I gave him a hug.
We were still standing there some time
later, Tim had moved on to talk to other people. It had stopped raining
for the time being, but the air was still cold and we were still freezing,
but we held out because we're Juliette, Skyler and Matiya and if that doesn't
say it all for you then you need to have you head checked.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a man with black hair like Mark's. And I said to Sky and Tiya: "That looks like Mark" because it really did, even from the distance we were at. But then, the man turned around and, oh my Goddess, it was Mark! How ironic, hmm? Go figure.
Mark waved at us and continued on his way into
the bus, carrying a McDonald's bag and sipping on some type of soft drink
from his McDonald's cup.
Behind Mark came Blas, looking hot as he
always does. And, being the total ditz that I am, I started flippin' out.
I was jumping up and down and screaming like an annoying little teenybopper.
That was, until Skyler smacked me in the back of the head and Matiya told
me bluntly: "Shut up!". Blas sent one of those 'What is your problem?'
looks in our direction, but didn't say a thing. I guess he's used to that
kind of stuff.
After that, we went and got in line to actually
go into the Nautica. Since cameras weren't permitted and they were doing
checks at the gates, Sky shoved the camera down her pants. Matiya and I
let Sky have reign over the camera for the rest of the day. I mean, we
didn't wanna touch it after that, we're not into that sort of thing.
Other than the thrill of having to watch
Skyler get kinky with the camera, only one other thing (that we can remember)
happened while we were standing in line.
Dave Bellanger of the band 1988 approached
us and we started talking. He invited us to see 1988, Kid Wicked and Warrant
play at the Odeon, which is a club in the flats. We agreed, of course,
what sort of dumbass would pass up a chance to see that show?
By the time we got in and found a seat,
it was raining and lightning really bad. It was announced that the bands
could do only three songs each. We were sort of let down, but we perked
up when Slaughter came on stage.
We couldn't see anything from where we
were at and that just wouldn't do for us. So, we moved up further. This
ticked off some chick behind us and the drunk skank threw her beer on us
(like it made any difference with all the rain).
None of us could really hear the music
that well, but we know they rocked because they always do. And I'm sure
that they always will.
But the lightening was getting really bad
and it was getting really close. In fact, it almost hit us and Skyler fell
on her ass because of it. She had a hold of my arm because she's a wuss
and she's scared of lightning. So, when she fell, she pulled me down with
her and Matiya just stood there laughing her ass off at us instead of helping
us up. What a bitch! It was sort of funny though. A bunch of other people
were laughing too, I hope they weren't laughing at us. Anyway, this really
hot guy helped us up.
Because of the lightning, we went back
to the car and listened to Warrant play from there. It rocked!
And then we went to the flats and found
a parking spot right across from the Odeon. We walked down the street and
had some chicken wings at Hooters while making fun of the waitress chicks
and their fake boobs. Goddess they disgust me.
Then, we walked back to the Odeon and went
inside. I'll spare you the details about Skyler drying her tits off under
the hand dryer in the women's bathroom and having some butch dyke hit on
her and shooting out of there like a bat out of Hades, dragging me and
Tiya along with her.
I know, you just wanna hear about the bands.
The three of us quickly nabbed spots up
front because people were starting to come in at a rather fast pace. Soon,
they were ready to start playing. The lights dimmed except for the stage
lights, which gave a really cool effect.
Okay, we were messed up from the rain;
there must have been weed or acid in it or something. So, we can't remember
who played first. It was either Kidd Wicked or 1988, we think it was Kidd
Wicked. Either way, they ROCKED! Man, it was so loud and my chest was rattling;
it was awesome!
Kidd Wicked rocked and everything, but
I think that 1988 was better. Maybe the tight snake skin pants that the
hot lead singer was wearing is what made 1988 so much better. I dunno.
And the drummer was just thrashing away at his drums man, it was great!
They KICKED ASS!
After Kidd Wicked and 1988, they brought
out Warrant. Yeah baby, yeah! I think that this was the best part of the
night, it was just too cool. Cause Jani was getting crazy and shit! Everything
was loud and the music was awesome. People were starting to semi-mosh;
I say semi because most people, by that time, were too drunk to totally
mosh.
Jani was getting hammered. He was drinking
Budweiser after Budweiser. At least I think it was Bud. It was either Bud
or Heineken, but I can't remember clearly because my mind was all fuzzy
at that particular junction because at the time my ribs were being crushed
as I was being flattened against the barricade by a bunch of drunks behind
me who were trying to mosh.
Then, Don Dokken came out. He was drunker
than shit and couldn't sing very well either. But, nonetheless, he and
Jani, both shit faced, sang 'Uncle Tom's Cabin' together. They were way
off key, but it was still cool.
Jani started shaking hands with people
in the audience and he came over to where Sky, Tiya and I were. He reached
his hand out towards me and little old me just though he wanted to shake
hands. So, I reached out eagerly and grabbed his sweaty hand. But, instead
of shaking my hand, he used me for leverage to stage dive into the sea
of drunk bastards, otherwise known as the audience.
The people were too messed up to catch
him right and he nearly fell on top of me and crushed me. Skyler pushed
me down, mussing my hair (that bitch). But not before I was able to reach
up and squeeze his ass! That was so fun!
After the show ended, people began filing
out slowly. Jani was near the doors, talking to his Mother. He was bombed
out of his tree and whining like a petulant child, which made it all the
more hilarious.
We were going to get his autograph, but
he was too drunk and too busy whining to his Mom to notice us tugging on
his shirt sleeve. It was a nice shirt. I wonder where he got it…
Goddess bless!
Hugz and kissez!
Lots of Love,
Juliette
