...plus more that were on the set list which I have no idea what the title of the songs were or original artist.
The show began at approximately 10:30pm on Saturday July 31, 1999. This was the first band of the night. That being the case, it is understandable that the first one or two songs were a little rough sounding. However, as the night progressed the band relaxed and began to play like they were enjoying themselves. Which, from the interview, they were. Apparently they had been at The Ritz the night before, but The Ritz being re-opened for only a short time, there wasn't really anyone there to appreciate the band. However, it appears that on this night there would be a crowd of people that could see that this band was something to sit up and take notice of.
As the set progressed, the crowd seemed to be enjoying the sounds coming from the instruments up on the stage. I also happened to be one of them. The whole band had a clear and flowing sound to them. As the songs were covers, you really couldn't tell that these guys had not written them even though one could recognize the songs from what is heard on the radio. This band was that good.
Since this band was the first on stage and being that the stage was set up with both bands equipment; I feel that the singer, Greg, would have moved around the stage more. As I and the rest of the crowd could see, he made a valiant attempt to show to the audience that he was as in to the music as anyone could hope to be.
All in all, I would say that seeing this band would be a great experience. Take it from someone who knows, good music is hard to come by. If you can see a good band, have a few beers, and just have fun; this would be a band to see. I recommend it. They will be appearing on Sept. 4th at The Ritz, Quality Inn 3525 N. Shadeland Ave. Music will be starting at 7pm. This is a benefit show for the Muscular Dystrophy Assn.
