Skyler: This just punches you right in the face! I thought
it was the perfect song to start the CD off !
Listen to "Oral
Fixation"
“FIRST”
ThrasherDave: I bet this song gets people moshing at
your shows! I'd love to be there; I love mosh pits!
Skyler: I didn't think it was really a moshing type song. Oral Fixation made me want to mosh! But this one is good too. I like the drums in this one alot!
“SCHOOL”
ThrasherDave: This song is way cool. I really dig the
trombone solo. I've never heard that before in a rock song, also the lyrics
seem pretty deep! Two thumbs up!
Skyler: This song is by far my favorite on the CD. I love the way the mix sounds on this song, and if I'm hearing the lyrics right, as Dave says, they seem pretty deep. It's really sad though, that this is how things are getting to be anymore. It makes me not want to send my daughter out there to school.
“THROW AWAY”
ThrasherDave: Wow! I like this song! It makes me
wanna Mosh, again! (Can you tell I like to Mosh?) At first, I thought this
was gonna be another one of those mellow, alternative tunes, then BAM!
It knocked me over! I like the drummer, he is really good!
Skyler: I'd have to agree with Dave on this one. Another
'smack ya right in the face!' song! Gotta love that!
Listen to "Throw
Away"
(This wav is not very good quality
but it will have to do for now, as soon as i figure this recording shit
out i will get good sounding wavs put up)
“GIRL NEXT DOOR”
ThrasherDave: What can I say? I can't find anything wrong
with these songs and I'd love to check this group out live.
Skyler: This one is pretty basic, in my opinion. That
doesn't mean it's bad at all, but, as I said before, "school" is my favorite
off this CD. I didn't really like this song as well as "School" and "Oral
Fixation", but it is good not bad at all
Skyler: I agree that I wasn't to comfortable with the overall sound on all the songs. For some reason, 'School' and 'Oral Fixation' sounded like it was mixed differently than the rest. However, those were the songs that I liked the best. Debra Blackburn, in my opinion, is an extremely talented woman! I love the vocals! She has a deep, rich soulful voice that seems to compliment the bands' musical style perfectly. I would go see Concrete Eden live, if given the chance. I feel that their live sound would be much fuller and just flat out kick ass! Also, I would recommend the CD to all of you out there who are looking for a new sound. Even though I do consider this music Alternative in style, it still strikes me as a very original sound.
Juliette: When I was introduced to the music of Concrete Eden, I was very surprised at what I heard. They have very interesting, original lyrics and a great sound. Their music is Alternative Rock with a strong Blues influence, which is something I havent heard in awhile that actually sounded good. But Concrete Eden makes it sound amazing and well-blended. I would recommend their music to anyone with a ear for good, new music and an open mind for new sounds.
