Let me initially say that when The Serpenteens were first brought to my attention, I didn't think much of it because I'm just not much into the Theatrical/Dark/Goth/Zombie type music at all. I received The Serpenteens' 'Dead Men Walking' Enhanced Demo CD and popped it into my trusty old CD player and sat back, ready to be tortured… Imagine my surprise when by the middle of the first song, I'm tapping my toes and realize, I'm jammin'! My first thoughts were that they sounded like a cross between so many different bands and styles that it most definitely made it unique. The most prominent influences, which I could detect in the music, were Danzig, The Cult, and, possibly, Ozzy Osbourne. Then, as I listened further, I concluded that these guys were clearly on to something new. It's not like all the other ever-so-popular 'Goth/Vamp' bands out there, they've got their own little twist thrown in there and I like it! I could really get into this, after hearing the CD, I'm wildly curious as to what these Monster Kids sound like live!
CD Track Listing
My favorite tracks would have to be, Silver
Bullet, Satana, Day of the Dead, and Speak His Name. Oh yeah, and don't
forget (Please Be My) Zombie Bride. The production/mix on this demo is
very good, Lots of bass and good clear vocals. Over all I'd say this is
a band that most certainly could make it big time. I will be looking forward
to having a chance to see these guys live! If you can grab a copy of this
CD I highly recommend that you do! You will not be disappointed!
