Asuka is a very interesting character. She first appears in episode 8 (Asuka Strikes!) and gives you a taste of her loud personality. She is half Japanese-half German, but has lived most of her life in Germany. She is the Second child chosen by the Marduk institute and the pilot of the Production Model Eva-02. At the begining Asuka has a crush on Kaji, but this slowly changes with time. Asuka is a prodigy child, she graduated from college at her age, but her child like behavior makes you forget of what she can be capable of. Her relationship with Shinji is interesting, sometimes she plays with him and others she feels attracted to him. She feels jealous of Misato since Kaji is still in love with her, there is a grudge between them because of this. One of my all time female anime characters of all time!
