The advent of Bhagwan Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa is the starting point

of the renaisance in India.Swami Vivekananda,the illustrious disciple of

Ramakrishna gave the impetus to it by starting the Ramakrishna Mission in

1897.The Mission is endeavouring to realise its aims through its centres

numbering over one hundred all over India and abroad.The Madras centre

is one of the oldest having been started in 1897.The Vivekananda Collee

occupies a place of pre-eminence, among the educational activities of the

mission in India.It was formally opened on 21st 1946.
