SALMAN   KHAN

Salman has mellowed down at last and has struck an equilibrium in his life after turning 30 last year.
His brashness and violent physical encounters with the photographers had him completely banned by
the press - national as well as filmi. Perhaps he is the only star who was banned by the press and
true to his attitude he was given the adjective "Brat" to go with his name. Apart from his fury, he
often in the news (banned though not literally - gossip sells after all) for his innumerable affairs with
women of various sizes and shapes irrespective of a gori, kali, lambu, moti or a choti. Gone are the
days of frantic love affairs and frenetic fisticuffs.

Salman has finally learnt to handle his turbulent professional and personal life.
Probably his relationship with Somy has given him stability and a string of good
films on hand is the reason. Now people are looking at him all over again and
have changed their biased opinion about him. But still Salman remains aloof from
all magazines.

While everyone around Salman feels he is very arrogant and conclude that it is
because he tasted success in his debut film itself, his father begs to differ. He
says Salman is very clear and that is the reason he looks arrogant. He goes on to
add that Salman has seen success at a very young age (afterall Salim is his father - who can forget
Sholay)and that suceess has got nothing to do with his attitude.

Salman's hot headedness has never intefered with his professional relationships. Producers like
Saawan Kumar, Sajid Nadiadwala and Bobby kent have all repeated him in their films. He does not
even have any hassles with his costars. He is ready to work with any heroine, old or new. Salman
does not even mind taking over the left-overs (films ofcourse!). For instance when Ajay Devgan
walked out of Karan Arjun and Salman was approached for the role he accepted it. He didn't make
it an ego issue. He felt the film was good and he did it. One's loss is other's gain, right!!

Even Salman had to go through a bad patch despite the fact that he had given a string of hits after
MPK. As a matter of fact the press did not give him any credit for the success of his films Andaz
Apna Apna or Karun Arjun. Anyway his other film Chand Ka Tukda boomed at the box office.
Sridevi's presence in the film did not do any wonders to the film though she was reigning bollywood
during that time. He took everything in his stride. During this bleak period he worked on himself, he
exercised, travelled a bit, stayed home. No wonder he has pumped a lot of iron - this is how some
of the meany industrywallahs react. So, jealousy thy name is women is a thing of past.

While on women, one can never forget Salman's escapades with women
splashed in all the glossies with clock-work regularity. He was linked with
every other girl and some of the nubile nymphets claimed to have been
propositioned by the tempsetuous Khan. After Shaheen and Sangeeta now it
is Somy. Probably he was not destined to marry Sangeeta (marriages are
made in heaven, you see). He has matured so much that he attended
Sangeeta and Azhar's wedding without nurturing any grouse. Salman never
believes in the numbering game. He has never aspired to be No 1. It is a well
known fact that he has had nine superhits to his credit. Yet he is not known as
the No 1. Salman gave a mega hit like HAHK and yet again the kutta stole
the limelight from him and he takes it in his stride. He knows that he is young, good looking and can
act too. At the moment he has pinned his hopes on Judwaa and Auzaar.
