Why Black&White?

In the World War I, Ottoman Empire lost most of its land in the Balkans.Many Turkish people dead including some of the players of Besiktas.That caused a great sadness in the country. Especially the young people couldn't easily accepted that.The members of Besiktas decided to change the colors of the team from red and white to black and white (as black is the symbol of mourning); till all the Balkan lands will be in the dependence of Turks again.
In the later years Turks couldn't took the dependence of the Balkan Lands back, and the colors of Besiktas Gymnastics Club stayed Black&White.
