She is now the head coach at the Academy of Ice Dance and trains several teams aside from Julianne and Ross. Melissa Pedersen - The daughter of an Olympic medal-winning bobsledder, Melissa is the cashier at the Grand Union in Brook Falls, the grocery store that Julianne and Ross shop at. Madison Schultz - Skating with Bruce Novak, Maddie is the reigning U.S. ice dance champion and resident gossip at the Academy of Ice Dance. Laura Robinson - Recently partnered with Ilia Gurov, serious, always focused Laura is the direct opposite of her flighty best friend Maddie. Svetlana Shushonova - Eighteen-year-old Svetlana is the world junior ice dance champion with her partner, Sergei Ivankov. The pair recently moved from Moscow to Brook Falls to train at the Academy of Dance. Kristy Jennings - A long-time student of Marina's, Kristy and her partner Mark Gardiner are U.S. national-level competitors. Candice Abrahms - Like Julie and Ross, Candice is a transplanted Canadian who came to Brook Falls to train with Marina. Candy and Rob Baker, her partner, are the Canadian silver medalists in dance.
