Maybe the limited success of his previous Christian music career as Michael James Murphy prompted his long hiatus from the business. But when Michael James returned, Murphy was nowhere to be found. Also left behind was the contemporary pop that he had become slightly known for. What emerged was a more mature artist who writes and sings as if he has found his home. "Love Waits", "It Wasn't His Child" and "That's What A Brother Is For" (a duet with Gary Chapman) touched radio listeners with their simplicity and insight.
