Anyone who's been within 100 miles of a Christian radio station has heard a song by Ray Boltz (assuming of course, they listened to the Christian radio station). Though sometimes considered the master balladeer with such hits as "Shepherd Boy", "Thank You" and "Watch the Lamb", his work with Teen Mania spurred Boltz in a more contemporary direction. Later recordings SEASONS CHANGE and ALLEGIANCE have a noticeably rockier feel ("Heaven Is Counting On You", "Saving Grace", etc.). Boltz rises to the challenge however and continues to deliver the uplifting messages he is known for. His CONCERT OF A LIFETIME is the best show case of his growth as an artist, and his unique ability to touch the hearts through his masterful use of words. One of my personal favorites is his more recent work of "One Drop of Blood". Though the music has changed a little, the heart of the Ray Boltz still shines through.
