Sandi Patti
The
distinctive voice of Sandi Patty has been heard all across the world. Although
she had been known to Christian Radio for years for songs like "How
Majestic Is Your Name", "More Than Wonderful", and "Via
Dolorosa", it was her performance of the "Star Spangled Banner"
at the Statue of Liberty Celebration that brought Patti's trademark soprano
to the world. On later efforts Patti taken a different musical road much
like her contemporaries Steve Green and Larnelle Harris. With ANOTHER TIME
AND ANOTHER PLACE, Sandi Patty moved from her inspirational pop to a more
contemporary pop sound, teaming up with artists such as Wayne Watson and
Amy Grant. Her next release LE VOYAGE with its single "Hand On My
Shoulder" continued the trend while stepping away from the straight
forward lyrics of the past. She used allegory and story telling to produce
a refreshingly different album for Sandi. When news of her extra-marital
affairs became public (by Sandi herself), she openly shared her short comings
and mistakes with the public and tried to maintain a sense of openness
and accountability to her fans.
