Debbies Allergies II Debbie sat there in the allergists waiting room. She had been there for about 15 minutes when the nurse called her name. Following the nurse into an examination room she sat down on the table within the room. "The Doctor will be with you shortly young lady." was all the nurse mumbled on her way out. Several minutes later, a middle aged man with a beard and glasses entered the room. "You must be Debbie, pleasure to meet you. My name is Doctor Redondo, and I will try my best to help you with your allergies." Debbie looked at him straight in the eye and responded, "I hope so, you see, I have my prom in two weeks and I just heard that fresh flowers will be at every table, not to mention the ones that the girls will be wearing. I am sure to have a sneezing fit and ruin my one shot at my Senior Prom." "Why would a few sneezes and sniffles do that?" the Dr. shot back. "Although it may be annoying I am sure we can keep it under control, after all its just a few sneezes." "Oh yea..." Debbie angrily replied, "well, you havent seen what mine can do." The Dr. was looking at her strangely. "What they can do? My dear girl although sneezes can be quite disturbing, loud, and messy at times, I assure you, there is no danger from them. Not to yourself or anyone else." Debbie just glared at him as she decided if what she was thinking of doing would be a good or bad thing. She reached her decision quickly. "Tell ya what Doc, if my sneezes dont change your mind about that then I promise to walk out of here fully satisfied with your service and expertise. But if not, then you have to help me get through this prom.. and for free." The Doctor thought about it for a moment as he weighed his options. He definitely wanted the respect of his patients and this girl would hopefully be one of them. "Its a deal." he said as he shook her hand. "So young lady, how do you plan on proving that your sneezes are so volatile?" Debbie grinned at him. "Thats the easy part Doc. You just gotta make me sneeze." The Doctor, still not really believing this was happening suddenly remembered what would do the trick. "Ok Debbie I will be right back." He returned quickly with dozen roses cradled in his arms. "I bought these for my wife for our anniversary tonight, they should do the trick. I want you to know that this is highly irregular by the way." Debbie could smell the sweet scent of the flowers already, and the tiny itch started way down deep in her nose at the same time. "Its ok Doc, I understand. I just dont want you to think I am exxagerating about my snee..eeh..eeh.." Much faster than she thought, the sneeze was already building up. The Doctor went and closed the door, studying her face as the sneeze took form. Her beautiful green eyes were half closed, and her nostrils began to flair a little. As he watched closely, Debbie tried to warn him.. "K..k...keep back a b..b..bit Doc, its coming ahh.ahhh..ahhhh.. its almost ahhhhh..here.." The Doctors only response was to shake the flowers in her face. "Cmon Debbie, let it out, I wanna see what the big deal is.. lets get some more pollen going here." As the tiny particles floated in the air around her, Debbie realized that this was quickly becoming one of those dangerously huge sneezes that almost took out 1/2 of her Math class earlier that week. She tried to hold it in a little then, so as not to really cause any damage. To her horror, not only could she not lessen the force, but it still semmed to be growing. Suddenly, It burst forth from her despite her best efforts to contain it a bit. AAAHH....AAAHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOO!! It left her with such force that she actually was lifted off the table and a few inches into the air. The wind and wetness that burst out toppled the charts, blew the door open, tore off the curtains, and flung the Doctor back into the wall. The flowers he was holding were blown about also, causing yet another puff of pollen to fill the room. As soon the sneeze left her, Debbie knew another was on the way, and worse, it seemed to be growing even larger than the last one. Determined to keep this one in, she set her mind to blocking it. Just then the second puff of pollen hit her, and the tickle once again grew in her nose. The Doctor had recovered by this time and immediatly saw that she was fighting to hold back another powerful sneeze. "NO!" he shouted, "Please dont, I believe you, I really do now!" Debbie tried her best to somehow stop what she knew to be uncontrollable. Her eyes were watering, her nose tickled and itched like a thousand feathers were at work on its insides. She tried everything, anything that would stop it. She bit her lip, placed her finger under her nose, and tried to keep up her mental block. Dr. Redondo frantically looked around, trying to figure out how to prevent her from sneezing. "Doc... do something.. Ahh.. Ehhh.. I cant hold it much ehhh.. longer.. Ahhh... Please!" Thinking quickly, the Doctor opened the window and tossed the flowers outside. "Its tooooo Ahhh... Ahhhhhhh.... late for that!" Debbie managed to say in between huge gasps. All at once, her defenses broke down, and she felt the sneeze coming like a freight train down her nostrils. She knew that she only had a few more seconds before it would be released. The Doctor quickly pointed to the window, and shouted "Quick, do it out there!" Debbie barely heard him, as the urge became too strong to deny. The best she could do was aim for the window, and as it exploded out of her thats exactly what she did. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH-CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! The building shook, the glass in the window blew outwards, and the trees across the lot swayed violently as the gust of wind hit them. The Doctor was dumbfounded and simply stod there with a look of amazement on his face. "Told ya. " Debbie muttered. "I really cant help it." Just then the nurse rushed in, "Doctor!! Are you ok?" Gathering himself, the Doctor responded, "Yes, yes, everything is fine." The nurse then handed him a sealed box, "This just came for you." The Doctor accepted the box and the nurse went back to her station. Not ready to talk yet, the Doctor opened the box. "From my wife, for our anniversary." Debbie looked over his shoulder into the box and was the first to notice the bottom of a vase. "Uh-Oh!" they both cried out, as a dozen white roses in a red vase suddenly took shape as the box was opened. To be continued.. again.. (Prom Night soon)
