Setting the scene: Annie phones Ben to set him up with Beth....
Annie: Hello Ben
Ben: Hello Annie...
Annie: Ben, do you remember the woman I talked to you about a few days ago, the one that I think you'll enjoy getting to know?
Ben: So... This is a set-up? I thought you were pulling the old friend routine and talking about yourself - I'm disappionted
Annie: Ben you know perfectly well that I'm engaged. Your not going to be disappionted with my friend, in fact I think you already noticed her - but if you want a real introduction you'll have to come over to the Spaulding mansion - let's say in 20 mintues?
Ben: Sounds intriguing
Annie: Is that a yes?
Ben: It's not a no
Annie: Ben?
Ben: Yeah?
Annie: Remind me to have you thank me later
They both laugh
Ben: I will
Next scene
Annie opens the door to Ben
Annie: Ahh, right on time and don't you look dashing, the perfect gentleman
Ben: Don't let the clothes fool you
Annie: Ben, don't disappoint me now, when you walk into that country club with my friend I want all heads to turn
Ben: Annie, Springfield hasn't exactly gone out of it's way to embrace me as one of it's own. Now why would you want to show off one of your friend's with me?
Annie: Because your perfect for what I have in mind. I know better then anyone else how heartless people in this town can be...
Ben: So I gather
Annie: That's why I called you, because my friend, she needs a little a little cheering up and a little intellectual stimulation
Ben: So you want me for my intellectual stimulation
Annie: Among other things
Ben: Well if you think flattery will work.... It might. And lucky for you I don't mind bartering
Annie: Bartering?
Ben: Well consider this a favour a might collect on some time
Annie: Why don't you just take my friend out to lunch, at the club - it's on me. Oh, speak of the devil...
Ben: You were a guest at Dinah Marler's non-wedding, weren't you?
Beth: I thought I recognised you
Annie: I'm sorry - Beth Raines Spaulding, this is Ben Warren
Beth: Hello Ben
Ben: Hello Beth...
At the club, Ben and Beth walk in, Phillip and Harley see them (as they are suppose to!)
Phillip: What is that jerk doing with my wife?
Harley: Last time I heard you and Beth were divorced
Phillip: What? You know what I mean....
Ben: Isn't that your ex-husband over there?
Beth: Yes, it is
Ben: Did you know he was going to be here?
Beth: Well, I uh..
Ben: You wouldn't by any chance be trying to make him jealous, would you?
Beth: Course not
Ben: Well even if you didn't I think it worked cause here he comes
Next scene
Phillip: Beth
Beth: Phillip, I hope I didn't disturb your lunch with Harley
Phillip: Oh no, not at all - I don't beleive we've been introduced, I'm Phillip Spaulding
Ben: Ben Warren, I'm Ross Marler's brother
Phillip: Oh yes, I know
Ben: That makes us family - how do you think I'll fit in?!
Phillip: Is that what you want?
Beth: Phillip...
Ben: Oh it's alright Beth, your ex-husband is a close friend of Rick Bauer's, I'm sure Phillip doesn't hold me in very high regard
Philllip: I understand you've decided to stay in town
Ben: Yes, it's a nice place - I'm very proud to be the new DA
Phillip: Well good luck
Ben: Thankyou, I'm sure I can use all the support I can get
Phillip: Oh, so am I. (to Beth) - Make I speak with you for a minute?
Beth: What's it about Phillip?
Phillip: It's about our daughter
Beth: Is she alright?
Phillip: Yes, she's fine
Beth: Then can't it wait
Phillip: No actually it can't
Ben: Why don't you two make yourselves comfy, I'll make myself scarce
Phillip: Thankyou, this won't take too long
Ben: Take as long as you like, I'll keep your friend company
Phillip: There's no need for that
Ben: I know, it's my pleasure
Next scene
Harley: Okay, what do I do? I'm going to count to ten, if he's not back at this table, I am leaving
Ben: One two buckle my shoe, three four....
Harley: I was talking to myself
Ben: I do that too - most of the time it seems, you mind if I join you?
Harley: You already have
Ben: It seems we've both been deserted in the interest of child-rearing.. Ben Warren - but then you know that don't you?
Harley: Yes, I was at the trial
Ben: I know, I saw you there.. Messy business, wasn't it?
Harley: To say the least
Ben: And you've been asking around about me ever since haven't you? It's alright, I enjoy the attention and it seems like we have some time on our hands so what would you like to know?
Next scene
Ben: I am open to your questions, you don't have to be shy with me
Harley: Okay, here's one - why would someone leave a multi-million dollar law practice in New York to become DA of tiny Springfield?
Ben: Because there's so many beautiful women here
Harley: New York has a few of those
Ben: True, true, but the New York woman is so, New York you know what I mean?
Harley: How did you meet Beth?
Ben: Do you want to know about Beth or do you want to know about me?
Harley: Oh you, of course
Ben: Things are getting a little intense over there - I think they've finished talking about the Lizzie problem, what do you think they're talking about?
Harley: I couldn't care less - why did you and Beth decide to have lunch here?
Ben: Your the detective Miss Cooper, why don't you tell me?
Next scene
Ben is back with Phillip and Beth
Ben: Parent's day over?
Phillip: Yes, it's quite over
Ben: Did I come back at a bad time?
Beth: No actually, your timing was perfect
Next scene
Ben: You lied before, didn't you?
Beth: When?
Ben: About not wanting to make Phillip jealous Well if you really are - I've got a few ideas for you......
Setting the scene: Ross and Blake are at the Towers, Ben is at the door and Blake makes excuses to go and talk to him, she grabs Ben and pulls him out of eye-sight
Ben: Good to see you too Blake
Blake: What the hell were you doing telling Ross that we made a bet?
Ben: Oh you mean the bet that we made where you sleep with me after I crush your husband in court and win the Abigail Bloom case?
Blake: You know what - let's get one thing straight, you will not win this case, and I will not sleep with you
Ben: Wanna bet?
Next scene
Blake: Stay away from Ross
Ben: Or what? You'll tell him about our little wager? How do you think he's going to react to that? I don't think he's the sharing kind of guy, but then we are brothers, share and share alike...
Blake: Wait a minute
Ben: I have all night
Blake: And why is that? Why is the great Ben Warren here all by himself? Don't tell me you were stood up by your date?
Ben: Actually I heard you were going to be here, and you didn't disappoint me
Blake: Right. Why don't you just go and bother somebody else
Ben: Because Blake, when your in the room there is no-body else. I just like to see you in the flesh to remind me of what I'm in for... (Ben touches Blake's face)
Blake: Don't touch me
Ben: I can wait - when it's worth waiting for, I can wait
Next scene - Ben goes to confront Beth about standing him up at the Towers
Beth: Good morning
Ben: I'm not used to people blowing me off the way you did last night, I mean your the one who wanted to go out
Beth: I know, I'm sorry
Ben: So that's how you thank me - by standing me up
Beth: Look, I said I'm sorry, it couldn't be helped
Ben: How's that?
Beth: I was locked in the attic
Ben: You...
Beth: With Phillip
Ben: Oh, I see
Beth: Ben, it wasn't like that I swear, I admit I was going out with you to make Phillip jealous but I didn't know I would get locked in the room with him
Ben: So you got what you wanted - Spaulding in a box
Beth: No, do you want an explanation or do you just want to stand there making smart remarks? Yes, there were a lot of reminds about our life together up there and for a bit it seemed like anything was possible
Ben: Like a reconcilliation?
Beth: I thought so. But that's not going to happen because
Ben: Because what?
Beth: Because the one thing that I thought would never happen, happened
Ben: And what's that?
Beth: Phillip doesn't love me anymore - he's in love with Harley
Next scene
Beth is crying, Ben comes over and offers her his hankie
Beth: Thankyou
Ben: Don't mention it
Beth: I'm sorry, I'm just...
Ben: Beth..
Ben: I'm sorry, I'm embrassed and I, I'm sorry Ben kisses Beth
Next scene
Beth: What are you doing?
Ben: It's called a kiss
Beth: I know what it's called, why are you doing it?
Ben: I don't like to see women cry, I don't like to see anyone cry
Beth: So you kiss them to make them stop?
Ben: It worked, didn't it?
Beth: I guess I didn't figure you for the sensitive type
Ben: I'm not, your too beautiful to resort to tears
Beth: Do you see absolutely everything as some kind of a manipulation?
Ben: Mostly
Beth: Did it occur to you that somebody might actually have real feelings?
Ben: That's not the point, see most people would rather feel sorry for themselves rather then take action, and that's a colosal waste of time. Once a upon a time I wanted more then anything to tell that to someone, a certain someone and never had the chance to
Beth: What stopped you?
Ben: Life. Death. But the point is, if you don't like your situation don't just cry about it - change it
Next scene
Beth: Don't look now, but you almost showed a little bit of feeling
Ben: It was all for effect
Beth: I don't think so - who was this person from your past?
Ben: Fictional
Beth: I think not
Ben: Your sounding like a lawyer
Beth: And you know for a second, you didn't
Ben: It won't happen again
Beth: Alright, alright - I won't pry
Ben: You already have
Beth: It won't happen again
Ben: Look, before you begin to think this is some big dark secret I assume you know I was adopted?
Beth: Yes
Ben: And I was told that my mother, when she gave me away, cried, she cried for days, for weeks, she was afraid I would be scared for what she did to me and I can't get that picture out of my mind
Beth: I can image
Ben: I never saw her of course, but you know how you get a an imagine in your head and mine is very clear, I can see the way she looked, the colour of her hair, the way she wore her hair, the dress she wore when she gave me away and her tears, her endless tears. I looked for her for years you know, to try to tell her that I was alright, that I was on my way to being a highly successful lawyer, but, thanks to Ross Marler, I never found her
Beth: I should probably tell you that I've known Ross most of my life
Ben: Saint Ross. Well, saint Ross lied to his own brother, so he couldn't find his own mother, and I am scared, by that picture - of her face, her hair, her dress, her eyes, her tears, her endless vail of tears... Lights fade, slow curtain
Beth: You had to do that didn't you?
Ben: Do what?
Beth: Add that little sardonic spin on the end
Ben: I'm a sardonic guy
Beth: Are you that afraid of showing a little feeling?
Ben: If I hear the word feeling again I might barf
Beth: I'll try to avoid it
Ben: Don't let that pointiant little tale mislead you - beneath this cold veneer, I have an ever colder interior
Beth: I don't think your as hard as all that
Ben: Oh I am
Beth: Whatever you say
Ben: And I'm not being self-efacing or dramatic it's just that there only a few things that I care about - and I can do without seeing people cry thankyou
Beth: I'm sorry I stood you up last night
Ben: I survived
Beth: I sure that you'd survive just about anything
Ben: So far...
Beth: Even so, I'd like to make it up to you
Ben: That's a dangerous offer
Beth: What I had in mind was taking you to breakfast
Ben: That's very nice, for starters
Next scene
Ben and Beth are out to breakfast at the towers, where Blake is talking about Ben to Reva...
Blake: Look at him - look how smooth he is
Reva: He certainly gets around, doesn't he?
Blake: I told you
Reva: You know Blake, your right, we definately do have to do something about the man
Next scene
Ben: So you told Phillip what?
Beth: You heard me
Ben: Well I guess I wanted to be sure I heard correctly
Beth: I told him I'm staying in Springfield because your helping me find a job and he thinks we're seeing each other
Ben: I guess I heard correctly
Beth: Will you back me up, please?
Ben: You mean lie?
Beth: I have a funny feeling it won't be the first time - besides, I'm just doing what you told me to do not crying over a situation but trying to change it
Ben: Okey-doke
Beth: Thankyou
Ben: But you owe me
Beth: You really keep score don't you?
Ben: We all do, in one way or another and don't let anyone tell you differently
Blake: Do you think I should warn Beth?
Reva: No, sometimes with women when you tell them unsavoury things about a guy it makes them want to, well, it makes them more interested
Blake: That doesn't make any sense
Reva: Are you telling me that you never went after the bad boy?
Blake: Well maybe in my past, but that's over with, I've learnt my lesson I wouldn't do that again
Beth: You are really getting alot of attention from across the room
Ben: Oh you mean my sister-in-law and Abigail Bloom's best friend? Yes, I know, their stares are burning a hole in the back of my skull.
Beth: Would you like to go some place else? I don't mind
Ben: No, not at all, in fact I think I'll go say hello - will you excuse me?
Beth: You are really sure of yourself with women, aren't you?
Ben: Well, I got the best looking one in town to buy me breakfast, didn't I? I won't be long
Ben: Good morning
Reva: It was
Ben: I hope I'm not interrupting your breakfast : Actually, I just lost my appitite
Ben: And we haven't even formally met, Reva Shayne, I'm Ben Warren... How about you Blake, are you hungry?
Blake: I ate
Ben: Well, if I've ruined your meal the least I can do is pick up your cheque
Reva: That's alright, we'll take care of it
Ben: Whatever you say. I was sorry to hear about the fire in your home
Reva: Don't be, we're all fine
Ben: You know we are prosecuting the arsonests to the fullest extent of the law, as DA I'm going to be proud to take a big bite of crime in Springfield
Reva: Why don't you take a big bite out of this? (offers a spoon)
Ben: I'm not that hungry. You may be interested know about what's happening on in your friend's case
Reva: I'm really not interested in anything you have to say about Abigail
Ben: I've issued a sepina to her parents in Goshen
Blake: Why?
Ben: There's been some ill feeling between Abigail and her father I thought he might make an interesting witness
Reva: You are lower then low
Ben: You've got to dig deep to do a good job Reva
Reva: Yeah well so far your job has got one person killed and another women being charged with murder - what do you do for an encore?
Ben: A good attorney's work is never done, anyway, please tell Abigail that none of this is personal it's just that the rewards of winning the case are too great to risk losing it - you know what I mean, don't you Blake?
Beth: I don't beleive you
Ben: What? Just because I'm a cold-blooded attorney means I'm not supposed to cook?
Beth: Cook maybe but bake bread to relax?
Ben: I get a rise out of yeast
Beth laughs
Ben: See, laughing is better then crying
Beth: Much
Ben: Especially over a man how doesn't deserve you
Beth: And which man does?
Ben: You want names and addresses?
Beth: You have any?
Ben: Beth, your a beautiful woman, you have alot to give
Beth: That actually sounded half sincere
Ben: It was
Beth: Thankyou
Ben: Your welcome
Beth: And you still mantain that your an unfeeling cynic?
Ben: Unfeeling and cynical are two of my finer qualities
Setting the scene: Ben is at Cedars.....
Ben: You've been very helpful Nurse - ummm?
Nurse: Phyllis
Ben: That's a pretty name, Phyllis. Anyway, thankyou for your time, the state appriciates citizens who are forthcoming
Phyllis: Well, I don't know Abigail Bloom that well, but if you need anymore interviews I'm in the book
Ben: I'll call
Ben: Pardon me? Mrs. Raines - I know you're very busy. I'm Ben Warren
Lillian: I know who you are and I don't have anything to say to you
Ben: I guess I'll have to do all the talking then
Lillian: I'm very busy
Ben: I just wanted to compliment you on your daughter, Beth is stunning, she puts all the other young women in Springfield to shame - I'm enjoying spending time with her
Next scene
Lillian: And why do I find it hard to beleive you came all the way over to the hospital just to tell me I have a lovely daughter Mr Warren?
Ben: Your absolutely right, I'm here for a check-up, I have a late appiontment, but I saw you and I had to come over - in fact I just left Beth a short while ago
Lillian: Really
Ben: Yes, it's refreshing to find someone her age who's not embarassed to speak with affection about her family
Lillian: What do you mean?
Ben: Well she glows when she talks about her mom. You are the best mother in the world aren't you?
Lillian: Well I certainly like to think so
Ben: And your granddaugther Lizzie - princess Lizzie, the fairest in the land
Lillian: You've met Lizzie?
Ben: Yes, and I look forward to spending more time with her as Beth and I grow closer
Next scene
Beth arrives
Ben: I'm glad your here, I made those phone calls
Lillian: Calls? What calls? Beth, what is going on?
Beth: Ben's just helping me find a job that's all
Lillian: That's all?
Beth: It's nothing really mom
Lillian: Your staying in town?
Beth: Yes
Lillian: Well when were you going to tell me?
Beth: I was going to tell you today - aren't you happy?
Lillian: Well yes, I'm thrilled of course that my daughter and granddaughter are going to be staying but do you think this is a good idea?
Beth: I'm postive mom - it's going to be great, you'll see
Lillian: You and I are going to have some talk young lady
Beth: Of course I didn't know that you and my mother knew each other
Ben: Oh I make it a point to meet all the beautiful women in town
Lillian: Your good, but I'm not going to talk to you, because I am very fond of Abigail Bloom
Ben: Beleive me Mrs. Raines my prosecution of Abigail Bloom is nothing personal, I keep the lines between my professional and personal lives very clear
Next scene Phillip's arrived too, explains that he was just there to drop off Rick and he'll leave
Beth: Phillip, you don't have to leave on my account
Phillip: I'm not
Ben: And not mine either, I'm practically your uncle
Phillip: Please don't remind me
Another nurse: Ben, is that you?
Ben: Colleen.... Will you excuse me, this is an old friend from New York... What a small world
Colleen: I heard you were here
Ben: For quite awhile now - you still married?
Colleen: Yes, no thanks to you
Ben: That's too bad
Colleen: Not really, I've turned over a new leaf since New York
Ben: Have you? That's a shame, we had some good nights together
Colleen: I remember, but that was a long time ago. I was hoping that you'd call me or stop by, I uh,
Ben: Yes
Colleen: I got a call from someone a couple of days ago asking about you
Ben: Who? A reporter?
Colleen: No, a private detective - a women
Ben: Did she say how you knew me?
Colleen: No, but she must be good
Ben: Did she give a name?
Colleen: Yeah, it was something strange, her first name was like a motorcycle or something
Ben: Harley Cooper
Colleen: Yeah probably, I mean I thought it had something to do with your being appionted District Attorney but then she started asking about your personal life
Ben: That's interesting
Colleen: I praised you to the skies of course but I got the distinct impression this woman was looking for dirt
Ben: Well thanks Colleen, I appriciate that, and we'll have to get together soon, even if it is with your husband
Next scene
Ben shows up at Harley's place where Harley, Blake, Reva, Abby and Jenna are talking about Ben
Reva: I think what Blake means is that Ben Warren is the type of guy who would take otherwise intelligent women and make them do really stupid things
Ben: I'll take that as a compliment - ladies... Blake
New Episode
Last scene repeated
Ben: Well I'm flattered that I generate such interest in a group of such disearning women. What else would you like to know?
Harley: Well for one, I'd like to know what the hell you think your doing in my apartment
Ben: I knocked on the door, someone said come in and here I am - which is a break for you Harley, I decided I would spare you any further leg-work
Harley: What do you mean?
Ben: Well you don't have to go around digging in my past anymore - I'm happy to accomadate you in person
Reva: You could accomadate all of us by getting your sorry butt out of here
Ben: You've been asking questions of my ex-lovers, which tells me someone is interested in knowing how I am in bed (Ben looks directly at Blake)
Next scene
Reva: Nobody gives a damn about your sexual prowess, or lack there of
Ben: Then why all the questions? Speaking of which - would you like a cup of coffee? would be appropriate right now
Jenna: Saying goodbye would also be very appropriate
Harley: Yes please, and shut the door on your way out
Ben: I don't want my ex-lovers harrassed Harley
Harley: Mr Warren do you have something to hide?
Ben: If you wanted details of my love life why didn't you ask?
Reva: You really think your God's gift to women don't you?
Ben: Well Harley's been talking to the women in my life, any complaints? I do know how to please a woman
Reva: Well your in a room full of women right now and you are definately not pleasing any of us
Blake at this point flashes back to when she made the bet with Ben
Reva: Your getting ready to prosecute a women who is up for a crime that she has no reason going to jail for - doesn't that bother you? Don't you feel awkard being here in the same room with her?
Ben: I came in to talk to Harley about her intrusions into my private life, I didn't realise I was walking into a coffee clatch - I had no idea Abigail was going to be here, but yes your right Reva, there are things about this case that trouble me, I am not without feelings even though I think that's how you prefer to see me
Abby: What is he talking about Reva?
Reva: That's what I was wondering - are you reconsidering? Please just tell me that your going to drop the charges
Next scene
Ben: There's no way I'm dropping the charges against Abby
Reva: Damn you
Ben: It's my job
Abby: You know, I want to know what you are trying to tell us Mr Warren
Ben: As District Attorney I am legaly bound to prosecute this case for the state - a man was shot dead in a county court room full of witnesses
Reva: But of course you'll find a way to twist the law so that Abby is punished more then she's already been - you want honest? Your the reason Roy Meecham is dead
Abby: Reva....
Reva: No, it's true Abby, because you twisted the law around, Roy got off, if that hadn't happened Roy wouldn't be dead today - that's why I don't trust you Mr Warren
Jenna: Now if you'd like to drop your charges against Abigial right now perhaps we'd change our opinion of you
Ben: I doubt it, anyway I can't do that, it's my job to represent the people of Springfield
Harley: You almost said that with a straight face
Reva: Almost
Ben: Abigail will be well represented by Ross
Blake: That is the only reason you've involved in this case
Ben: That's not true Blake - he's not the only reason (Ben laughs) You'll have to excuse me, I can't forget the past so easily and I think it's very impressive the way this little sororiety has managed to do that
Jenna: Excuse me - what has this little sororiety managed to do Mr Warren?
Reva: What the hell are you talking about?
Ben: Well you're so bonded in spite of everything, see I've done a little checking around myself, about all of you
Reva: How dare you!
Ben: Pro-Quo, Baby - for example, you and Harley haven't always been so close - and Blake there was a time you and Harley couldn't even stand to be in the same room together. I know it's a small town, but I think it's impressive the way you've all been able to overcome your petty jealouses to become such close friends
Reva: This is none of your business
Harley: Yeah, I really wouldn't shed any tears over us Mr Warren
Ben: Didn't you hate Jenna Bradshaw? Your father left your mother for her, and now your partners in a detective agency
Jenna: I think that's quite enough Mr Warren
Ben: And you know the most impressive thing actually is how close Abigail and Blake have come, despite the fact that Blake has born a child by the man Abigail loves - I think it takes alot of character to overcome that, doesn't it? In fact Abigail I would like to speak to you privately
Reva: Whatever you have to say you can say in front of the rest of us
Ben: This has nothing to do with the trial
Reva: It doesn't make any difference what it has to do with
Abigail: No it's fine Reva, I will talk to him
Abigail: What do you want Mr Warren?
Ben: I know how much Rick's child means to him
Abigail: What's the point - what does that have to do with me?
Ben: Just about everything I'd say
Abigail: Well I'm afraid your going to have to be more specific with me
Ben: Any hope that Rick has of becoming more a part of his boy's life will be hurt by his association with a murderer
Abigail: Well I didn't intend to kill him
Ben: It doesn't matter whether you intended to pull the trigger or not, it doesn't even matter whether your convicted or not - think of the field day the press is going to have with this case when it goes to trial
Abigail: What are you trying to tell me?
Ben: I'm not speaking to you now as a District Attorney prosecuting your case, I'm talking to you as an interested observer who's been around a little more then you have, you knows a little something about the cold hard facts of living in the 90's and I've seen how much Rick means to you and I know you don't want to jepadise his happiness, do you?
Abigail: Of course I don't I'm going to marry him
Ben: Yes, that's what I've been thinking about and it seems to me that Rick's happiness is based on two things - one - marrying you and two - his son
Abigail: Why do you keep bringing Kevin into this?
Ben: Because if Rick is ever going to get custody of his son your going to have to remove yourself from his life - otherwise he doesn't have a pray - you understand that?
Abigail: I think that you don't care about me, I think that you don't care about Rick and you don't care about his son. I think your trying to get Rick to take Kevin away from Ross because your trying to hurt Ross
Setting the scene: Ben is in his room, Blake comes to the door....
Ben: I've been expecting you
New Episode
Ben: I've been expecting you but your a little early, please come in Blake hesitates - Ben: It isn't part of your game plan?
Blake: Who said anything about a plan?
Ben: I don't know - didn't you?
Blake: Look Ben...
Ben: I am and I like what I see very much
Blake: You know maybe this wasn't such a good idea
Ben: Oh it was an excellent idea, I mean I haven't won our bet yet, but there's nothing like a sip to wet the whistle
Blake: You never stop dreaming do you?
Ben: And what about you Blake - am I in your dreams?
Blake: Don't flatter yourself
Ben: Are you coming in or not?
Blake: Sure
Ben: Except for yes, that is my favourite word
Next scene
Ben: Well I'm happy your here but I'm not altogether sure why - alone, in my hotel room in the dead of night...
Blake: I don't really know myself
Ben: Well, there's worse places to end up - can I offer you a drink, I'm having scotch
Blake: Scotch would be great
Ben: Have a seat, make yourself comfy
Blake: Nice place
Ben: Sheets are clean
Blake: I meant
Ben: I know what you meant - so, the party finally went on down huh?
Blake: What party?
Ben: Your girls night out over at Harley Cooper's, funny how everyone was sitting around trying to figure out what makes me tick
Blake: Oh please, don't let it go to your head
Ben: Oh, it already has. Your idea?
Blake: No
Ben: But then you wouldn't tell me even if it was, would you? So what should we drink to? You and me and our wager of sin?
Blake: Your awfully sure of yourself
Ben: I am
Blake: I suppose you think I'm like all the other women you've charmed into your bed
Ben: Are you charmed Blake?
Blake: Actually, there's something very intriguing about a man who knows what he wants and how to get it, yeah
Ben: Intrigued too...
Blake: I'm alot like that you know - when I want something I take it
Ben: And what have you taken?
Blake: It may suprise you to know that your brother Ross, he wanted to marry another woman when I decided I wanted him, my mother - I didn't care who I walked over, so you might say when I want something I do go after it
Ben: And what are you going after tonight? Are you so charmed and intrigued that you rushed over here to make love to me? Or are you setting me up?
Blake: (takes off her coat) I suppose there's only one way to find out

Blake: So what's the problem Ben? I thought this is what you wanted - you, me, together - between the sheets. You've been teasing me about it ever since we made that bet
Ben: Is that what I do to you Blake, tease you?
Blake: Well I guess it doesn't matter, does it? Because I'm here and I'm ready Oh come on, don't tell me your starting to get shy?
Ben: No, not shy, just cautious - because up until a few minutes ago you lead me to beleive you didn't want to have anything to do with me
Blake: Maybe you just got lucky
Ben: And maybe your up to something
Blake: The bigger question is are you up to something? Or are you just all talk?
Ben: And am I suppose to beleive you really intend to find out?
Blake: It is a woman's proative to change her mind and I've always been very unpredictable
Ben: If your trying to entice me, I like it
Blake: Really? So you always act this reluctant when your trying to seduce a woman?
Ben: No, just to women who usually refer to me with four letter words
Blake: (getting ready to leave) Guess I misread your intentions
Ben: Where are you going?
Blake: To put it into another four letter word - home
Ben: Wait, wait - just what exactly did you intend to do tonight?
Blake: Why don't you freshen my drink and we can take it from there Oh come on Ben, don't look so suspisous - it's not very romantic
Ben: And what do you think is romantic?
Blake: Well for starters, your going to have to be alot more trusting
Ben: So I shouldn't worry about you stangling me with your pantyhose?
Blake: Especially since I'm not wearing any
Ben: Oh that's a relief
Blake: Oh come on Ben, don't tell me you haven't been around women who've behaved like me - married women, who hide their attraction with anger
Ben: Only this women is my brother's wife
Blake: Isn't that the point - to pay Ross back?
Ben: Yes, for me - but what about you?
Blake: Why don't you show me - or maybe I could help (Blake starts to take off Ben's tie)
Ben: Don't start something you can't finish
Blake: Oh I wouldn't dream of it
Ben: This is dangerous territory my friend
Blake: Lions and tigers and bears - oh my
Ben: I'm not kidding
Blake: Why don't we move on over to the bed and we can discuss it
Ben: After you
Blake: Oh no, I insist, after you Come on Ben, relax
Ben: Only if you join me
Blake: I intend to, but first I have a little suprise
Ben: What suprise?
Blake: Now it wouldn't be a suprise if I told you, would it? Close your eyes
Ben: Why?
Blake: Ben if your half as adventurous as they claim you are, indulge me
Ben: That good?
Blake: Oh no, it's not good, it's very, very bad. Close your eyes
Ben: Should I trust you?
Blake: No pain, no gain
Ben: Yeah
Blake: Ben, be a sport - play with me - close your eyes
Blake: Good boy
Blake handcuffs Ben to the bed
Blake: Suprise

Ben: Well I can't help thinking what Ross would say if he came walking in and saw us
Blake: Leave Ross out of this
Ben: But then he probably likes to watch, doesn't he?
Blake: Shut up Ben
Ben: Uh-huh, so what's the plan? Cops and Robbers? Do you have a thing for one armed men - is that what you intended? Are you going to ravish me single handed?
Blake: Oooh - dream on. No Ben what I have in store for you is so much more intereesting
Ben: Really? And what could be more interesting? Let me see, Ben and Blake and Ben is shackled to the bed, Blake begins to nibble at him, her lips and flickering tounge
Blake: Oh please spare me your idiotic fantasies
Ben: Her flickering tounge exploring his chest, riding a wave of molten pleasure, she hungrily slips off his clothes... And then what? What does she do then Blake?
Blake: And then she gives him a taste of his own medicene
Ben: Really?
Blake: Because it's time he learns what it's like to be frightened
Ben: How addrinnal
Blake: You've done nothing but upset people and turn their lives around since you came to this town, you have pushed and pushed and so far everyone's bent to your will, but you know what? You may push to far next time and you may just push someone straight to their breaking point Ben
Ben: And who would that somebody be Blake - would that somebody be you? Would snap and call me bad names and tell me I can't see my nephews?
Blake: Oh, don't be smug with me, I am warning you
Ben: Or what? What are you going to do to me Blake?
Blake takes a knife out of her handbag...
Blake: Why don't we talk about it

Blake is trailing the knife over Ben's chest
Blake: It's no fun to be held against your will, is it Ben?
Ben: I never held you captive
Blake: Oh bull, you hold me hostage emotionally. Everytime you want to get a rise out of me you just threaten to go to my husband about our litte bet - well, know it's your turn to sqirm Mr Warren
Ben: Before you twist that knife to much Blake, you'd better take a good look because you'll be looking at your future
Blake: Now just what are you talking about?
Ben: It's just ironic that you seem to hate me so much - I'm just a product of my envioroment, my upbringing. The same kind of twisted home life you've conconted for your son Kevin
Blake: How dare you, you don't know a damn thing about either one of my children
Ben: I know there's a chance you won't let Kevin know who his father is, the same way Ross never told me who my mother was - it's the same home life Blake, so be careful - there's a good chance that Kevin will turn out just like me
Next scene
Blake: There's no way either one of my boy's will turn out to be a low-life like you
Ben: Well the truth has a way of coming out in the end Blake, Kevin will find out someday what he is, from a newspaper clipping, friend, relative
Blake: He won't know anything we don't want him to know until he's old enough to understand
Ben: I bet that's just what you told yourself when you had the twins, isn't it? But then Ross found out that Kevin wasn't his and all hell broke loose
Blake: That was different
Ben: Why? Because you had a car wreck? There's all kind of wrecks in this world girl. Big ones, little ones, female ones. Kevin will find out before you want him to, he'll be all screwed up
Blake: Damn you, shut up Ben
Ben: And some day he might even end up shacked to a hotel bed by some outraged woman
Blake: I said shut up
Next scene
Blake pulls Ben's head back by his hair and waves the knife around
Blake: Does this look like a toy to you? Does it?
Ben; I don't know - does it squrit?
Blake: Don't you joke with me Ben, you better listen to me or else I'm gonna
Ben: Or what? Or what? Your going to cut my throat? Your going to kill a man in cold blood Blake, I don't think so. Go ahead, go ahead huh
Blake pushs him away and drops the knife
Blake: What am I doing
Ben: See you just can't win can you?
Blake: You don't know when to quit, your clueless Ben - you are tied up to a bedpost and your still pushing the envelope - not smart Ben, not smart at all
Ben: And this was a smart scheme of yours?
Blake: This is what happens to people like you, you remember this night, you remember it because maybe next time someone might really kill you
Ben: Yeah and maybe someone will do what they really feel like doing and make love to me
Blake: You digust me
Ben: Your eyes flare when they're angry
Blake: I'm gone
Ben: Hey, aren't you curious to see what will happen if you stay?
Blake: I would murder you
Ben: What? Before or after sex? Or during?
Blake: Your certifiable, your are certifiable
Blake is at the door about to leave
Ben: Hey, Hey! Hey hey - you can't leave me here
Blake: Watch me
Ben: I can yell loud
Blake: So yell
Ben: And if yell loud and security comes I tell them that Mrs Ross Marler did this to me - I can't imagine that would help Ross much - do you?
Blake starts to throw the keys in Ben's direction
Ben: Hey, if I can't reach that we're going to have a problem
Blake: Damn you
Ben: Well damned or not I can still yell
Blake moves to the side of the bed and starts to hand the keys over - Ben grabs her, pulls her onto him and kisses her

Blake: Stop saying that - let me go
Ben: But it's true isn't it? It's true, isn't it? I mean I don't doubt that you love dear sweet Ross in your own way but it's hard being the perfect wife to the perfect husband, isn't it?
Blake: Oh shut up you don't know what your saying
Ben: Oh but I've been thinking about you alot, alot and you used to be a bad girl you used to get yourself into alot of troube, but then when you met Ross you quit cold turkey - very admirable, but very boring, isn't it? Blake: I don't care what they say, you make me sick
Ben: Stop fighting it Blake, come on it will be our little secret
Blake: Oh god..
Ben: You know, kind of like the bet we made
Blake: I never intended to keep that bet and you know it Ben. Ross is going to beat you and beat you until you finally give in and leave us alone
Ben: That's a nice try Blake, but you can't rewrite history can you, huh, you made that bet after I beat Ross in court, when you knew there was a good chance that I'd beat him again. See the truth is that you wanted to play games with me, didn't you? And you still do don't you? Which is why you came over here tonight, this is your version of foreplay, isn't it? Something to that Ross doesn't quite appriciate
Blake: That's it, I'm out of here
Ben: No, no you don't mean that
Blake: You let go of me, you let go of me or I swear
Ben: Or what? Or what - you did what you wanted. You came over here, you handcuffed me to a bed, you waved a knife under my nose, you got what you wanted, you can't walk out on that - can you?
