TIMES HAVE CHANGED
© Words & Music By Martha Miranda

When we were children so long ago
Things were different. Life was slow
We walked to school, played in the grass
Tended to a garden and things like that
We learned to cook and clean and sew
We learned to buy the groceries
And not from the freezers like they do it now
Pop it in the oven a minute in the microwave

I want to go back to the good old days
I want to go back in time
I want to go back to the camp meeting grounds
Where salvation was found
Didn't cost a dime
I want to go back to a little brown house
Sitting on a hill on the corner
And find the little girl that once lived there
Now she's gone. I can't find her

When we were children so long ago
Wasn't afraid to walk to the store
Went to church at night
Rode the bus across town
Walked in the rain
When it came pouring down
We didn't lock the doors
With no thieves around
We didn't tremble in our beds
When night came falling down
We still played outside the house
With the stars up above
Playing hide and seek
Till we heard Mama call

I want to go back to the good old days
I want to go back in time
I want to go back to the camp meeting grounds
Where salvation was found
Didn't cost a dime
I want to go back to a little brown house
Sitting on a hill on the corner
And find the little girl that once lived there
Now she's gone. I can't find her

Times have changed as the world turns
Things are not the same as the world turns
The little girl's changed as the world turns
Maybe I will find her as the world turns
Times have changed
