Repetition

Every year we read the Torah from the first chapter until the last chapter. This is like a spiral staircase. From one angle, it seems that we are in the same place. On another level, however, we are in a completely different place at each cycle, and it is only by coming back to the starting point that we are able to grow properly. Also the Torah is a very deep work, and in order to explore its depths, it is necessary to reread many times. - Heard at Rabbi Kessen's table
