Star Fleet Battles

Star Fleet Battles is the flagship of the Star Fleet Universe produced by Amarillo Design Bureau, and is a tactical-level game of ship to ship combat in the 23rd century. When playing Star Fleet Battles, YOU take command of a starship or fleet of the Federation, the Klingon Empire, or the Romulan Star Empire...plus over a dozen other races, each with their own unique style of combat.

Star Fleet Battles (or SFB as it is affectionately known) has a rulebook about the size of the Guttenberg Bible and is rather complex to play. It is, however, a fun game once you get the hang of it.

SFB is not, strictly speaking, canon and most materials for it are set in a variant of the TOS universe. John Kim maintains (sort of) an excellent archive of material for SFB at the Unofficial Star Fleet Battles Page, so I won't be posting any materials here unless John decides to shut down his site (which he has given no indication of doing)
