Jane Austen

Jane Austen lived from 1775 to 1817 in England. People enjoyed how unique and different her books were from the romantic melodrama that was popular at the time. Her stories were very realistic with ordinary characters, and she easily mixed comedy with romance.

Now people still enjoy her stories. They represent a certain time in history and their style continues to be unique and engaging. My favorite book by Jane Austen is "Pride and Prejudice". I love reading about how Mr. Darcy over-comes his pride and how Elizabeth Bennet over-comes her prejudice.
