HUNTED
she moves through the thick leaves
the vines
through the heady smells of wet
and honeysuckle
and her perfume
moonlight spills onto the ground
in shifting patterns
and it is then that she catches
the glints of yellow before they vanish
to what creature might they belong
she regrets her indulgence now
she should have stayed away
for in this place of the night hunter
she wonders
is it him
is this to be her time
Fear grips her heart
and her pulse beats wild and loud
like a well skinned drum
as smelling of madness
the figure moves closer to her
his grin
slow
and wide
and devastating
is as easy as water
guilded by a fine sheen of sweat
his body slides over hers
she shudders at the touch of his wet mouth
and his every ragged breath
echoes through her very being
sinking mindlessly into passion
the physical intrusion
seems barely a break in their rhythm
moving as a single entity
guided by natures lusty call
they rise and swell
drinking of each others cup
drinking full
till oblivion finally loosens its grip
she sighs
her fears now the remnants
of a quickly receeding memory
for he is no longer the hunter
she no longer the prey
but creatures of life
set to wander together
bound by a timeless unquenchable thirst
forever in search of forever
