and still the heart speaks
like the unruly child screaming to be heard
it continues to plague her senses
till it's murmured litany is forever set to paper
her only concession to release
the words break free
and in a gentle mesmerizing rhythm
dance before her coaxing others to join in
Would her heart ever sit quiet
and just listen
what would it hear
would the silence tell her tale
could it
not trusting that others will understand
she hides her eyes
she must not cry
for the mask will slip away with her tears
and all will see her nakedness
