Name:
THEDA PALABRICA
Profession: On-Air
Personality
Company: DYIC 95One IC FM
Address: Jaro, Iloilo City
Zodiac Sign: Gemini
School: Central Philippine
University
Course: Bachelor of Arts
Major in Masscommunication
Hobbies:
Chatting in the Internet, texting and listening to
music.
Favorite
mode of dressing: Anything that would be
comfortable to wear. For me, it is not about how you
dress up. One's personality is what counts. One has
to be beautiful inside and that beauty will reflect
outside.
Favorite
color: Colors that are appealing for me
are pastels. Just like "powder blue" for it
resembles coolness. Sometimes I also get attracted to
black as it exudes elegance.
Favorite
hang-out: Most of the time, I usually
stay at the station and research for some cool songs
of 95one IC FM (don't I deserve a treat for that? Ha
ha ha) and when I've got nothing to do, tease my
fellow jocks. Seriously, if I were to choose a cool
place to hang out, it would be the beach. It has
fresh air, the ambiance is relaxing and cool and
soothes my mood. It makes me feel happy.
Favorite
music: My co-jocks do have their own
choices of music. I'd settle for jazz. It really
captivates my mood. I love to hear sounds of Patti
Austin's "Say You Love Me," Spandau Ballet's
"True," Mike Francis' "Let Me In,"
El De Barge's "Time Will Reveal" and Anita
Baker's "Sweet Love."
Favorite
artist (s): David Benoit is good for
crossovers. I also love to hear Jim Brickman's
composition.
Favorite
book: I'm not really picky when it comes
to books. Anything that would increase my knowledge
would do. When it comes to novels, I like Sydney
Sheldon and Stephen King. For fashion magazines, I
like Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Dolly and Metro. "What's
in" in Metro updates me with the latest these
days.
Future
plans: I have lots of plans in mind, but
you see, the future is not ours to hold. I firmly
believe that with my determination and strong
character, I would become a better person. These
would serve as my means for success. I hope someday
that I will let God do the planning.
Perks
of my career: For me it's not about
money. I am able to impart music to listeners, to be
able to share this, striving to give them the best
that I can and enhance my capacity as a disc jockey
satisfies me.
Most
embarrassing moment at work: I have a
lot of bloopers to tell. But there's one that wouldn't
go away ...
After
two months of working at the station, I started to
love my job especially my slot. There was a time when
we started to go on a 3-minute segment (of 30 minutes
fast and 30 minutes slow music). My slot called for
slow music. It just so happens that I had no playlist
at that time, and I was running out of time. I
immediately grabbed the first CD that I could find.
Guess what I played on air ... "Stop right now
.. thank you very much...!" It was the Spice
Girls! After that our PD called up and told me to
"stop" and change my music. What an
awarding ceremony I received then. But you know, we
are just humans born to commit mistakes. That's how I
learned ha ha ha.
