OLD FOLKS

What ever in this day,
can old folk's know.
They're older than sin
and their memory is slow.
What do they know,
about problems you have.
With their old fashion ways,
they just might get mad.
Yes, you know they're real nice
and they love you a lot.
But in terms of life's problems,
what have they got.
But listen up, my dear ones
to your elder's words.
They have experience in this life
and you, they can serve.
They are just a little wiser,
now that is a fact.
And all of their values,
are still intact.
Life's situations have dealt
them problems as well.
But on them
you must never dwell.
Their experience in life
added lines to their face.
That's how they know
what it's like in your place.
They've been there, done that,
of this you can be sure.
A lot of your problems
they know the cure.
So talk to your old folks
they understand well.
And maybe they can
help things gel.
