Notes:

(A) Screna is also shown as "Serena" and as "Serenia" in various records. Serena Clay Barger and her husband, Ben Wiley Jones had five children:
1. Lou Bertha Jones, b. 1881
2. Columbia Belle Jones, b. 1885
3. Sarah Melvina Jones, b. 1888
4. Mary Florence Jones, b. 1890
5. Henderson Marvin Jones, b. 1892

(B) Pinte Barger's name is also shown in various places as "Pointe" and "Pointer" Notes contained in the Wartburg Public Library family files indicate that the name was actually "Pinte" but was pronounced as "Pinter"

(C) Mary Byrd Barger's actual year of birth is uncertain. If she were 29 in 1850, as shown on the census that year, she was born in 1821. If she were 65 in 1880, as indicated by that year's census, she would have been born in 1815.

(D) This family is descended from the Pinte Barger family of Morgan County, Tennessee.
