Comics and Art

Marie's Wall of Cows A really neat site by Marie Javins, a colorist at Marvel. Apparently she has a thing for cows, so she got artists to sketch or paint her bovine beauties, among them John Van Fleet, Jim Lee and Mark Texeira. Something you certainly don't see your favorite artists draw everyday!Art by Harry Candelario

Pop! You've seen his work -- everywhere. Keith Haring is his name. Pop art is his game. And now you can visit his virtual world.

Crack! up at Kapupu Lagoon where every day's a riot with Sherman and friends.

Snap! Snap Judgements offers reviews of each week's crop of comic books.

Dizzying New Heights Brand-new site dedicated to the entire Vertigo line of DC comics, this site promises to be THE meeting point for Vertigo fans, with sections on individual titles, a chatroom, and links to similar sites. Enter.....The House of Vertigo.

3 letters TMU is a weekly online magazine dedicated to the crazy The Marvel Universe. There are articles by industy members, reviews, rants, raves and more. Nifty layouts.

Annotations Here you'll find a dissection of the entire Sandman series by Neil Gaiman. Also for the Books of Magic miniseries, The Watchmen and other books.

Claremontisms A site dedicated to Chris Claremont, still the best X-Men writer ever. You'll find a transcript of an interview with him disclosing many things you probably didn't know -- like Mystique a lesbian? Phoenix was never meant to die? Cyclops to have been permanently off the active roster? Madelyn Pryor was never meant to be Jean's clone? Claremont wanted to give Wolverine the boot? Holy guacamole! Bizarre or what! And of course, the most important question -- why Claremont left the X-Men.

XXX For all die-hard X-fans, The Mutant Pages contains an exhaustive list of danglers that have or have not been resolved, storylines.....Very nice.

A Really Useful Site is The New Comic Book Releases List Web Site. Weekly releases and late comics are listed, and you can subscribe to a mailing list to receive the weekly release list in your mail.

Another Really Useful Site is www.bestbookbuys.com . By keying in the title, author or ISDN code of the book you're interested in purchasing, a search will be performed on all major online bookstores (Amazon, Bookstacks, alt.bookstore...) and the engine will display a table showing the price of the title at each store.
